The latest polling data from at least 3 organizations show striking trends on key issues that impact voters.
When one considers where the nation stood one year ago as compared to today, one would almost come to the conclusion that he/she is living in an entirely different country.

Consider these:
1. One year ago Barack Obama's job approval rating was in the 70% range and above.
2. One year ago the nation believed that the plan of Obama and Congress would help the nation dig out of a recession, reverse the rising unemployment rate, and bring about a renewal of hope.
3. One year ago the press in one unified chorus extolled the praises of Obama without even attempting an objective look at some rather dubious promises and numbers provided by the new Administration.
4. One year ago George W. Bush was viewed as a villain who single-handedly caused the markets to tumble, jobs to disappear, and the banks to fail.
5. One year ago, Americans were willing to give Obama's healthcare plan a chance...once they saw it and understood it.
What a difference one year has made. Today the political climate is entirely different due almost entirely to the current government's numerous broken promises, failed initiatives, reckless spending, higher taxes, growing deficits and debt, and a healthcare plan that most citizens simply do not want.
The polls tell the story.
Rasmussen's Daily Presidential Tracking Poll shows that only 25% of likely voters approve of the manner Obama is handling his job. 40% strongly disapprove. 61% of likely voters now say they prefer that Congress totally scrap the current healthcare bills in the House and Senate and start over. Only 30% say that the country is headed in the right direction, and a full 63% say that it would be best if most who sit in Congress lose their jobs in November of 2010.
The primary reason Rasmussen's polling data tends to be more accurate than the others is that the organization polls only likely voters. Other organizations poll citizens in general, whether they have an interest in voting or not.
Still, the other polling organizations are now noticing a similar trend to that reported by Rasmussen.
For example, the latest CBS News/New York Times poll shows that Obama's approval rating stands at only 46%. The reason that this number is so significant is that both CBS and the NYT have been known to skew their polling data in favor of Obama. This is done by the manner in which pollsters ask the questions and the way the data is configured and reported, not to mention that these polls, unlike Rasmussen, are conducted among the general population, not likely voters.
Yet Obama receives less than a majority of support even in these polls.
In addition, a whopping 80% of Americans say that Congress is more interested in serving special interests than their own constituents.
Interestingly, Katie Couric downplayed the bad news for Obama. As NewsBusters reports,
In a new CBS News/New York Times poll, President Barack Obama’s disapproval level jumped five points, to 45 percent since the last survey in mid-January, with approval now at just 46 percent, but Thursday’s CBS Evening News skipped that bad news for Obama and instead highlighted some better news for the President.
Though 80 percent said “members of Congress more interested in serving special interest groups” than the American people, “the President gets better marks on that score,” Katie Couric touted, as “most think his priority is serving the people.” Reporter Nancy Cordes relayed how “only 29 percent think the GOP is trying to work with the President, while 62 percent think Mr. Obama is reaching across the aisle.”
But by CBS News' own polling numbers, Americans prefer smaller government by 56%, and 53% believe that the nation cannot afford any reforms to the healthcare system at this time. This news flies in the face of the supposed fact that Americans 'think Obama's priority is serving the people.'
If the people do not want big government and ObamaCare, then it is clear that they do not believe Obama is 'serving their interests.'

I just don't see how the media can put this sort of spin on things. One year ago, things were not all cozy with the pointy eared one. That is simply how it was portrayed. Now they are running smack into a wall with their utter nonsense. Perhaps it's a more practical thing though? Advertising revenue dropping because people are just saying no to the never ending lies? As much as they like to tout the left wing sociopath ideology the fact remains that they are corporations, with a bottom line. I for one would truly enjoy it if they woke up one day, and followed Air America into the footnotes of American history.
