A new Rasmussen poll shows that Barack Obama's approval rating has reached a new all-time low of 42% (only 24% strongly approve). His disapproval rating now sits at 56% (44% strongly disapprove).
The huge gap between those strongly approving and disapproving of Obama indicates once again that all the energy is with the opposition--a key factor in election outcomes.
Additionally, as I have noted, the opposition to Obama's policies is far more widespread--often overwhelming--on nearly every issue.

Heck, with the inaction on the BP oil spill, (probably to try and pump up support to ban offshore drilling by *making* it as bad as he can) possibly getting us into a war with North Korea, and attempting to open up whaling again, Mr. Zero is finding new ways to upset even more people than Bush! If he keeps this up much longer, people really will be pining for the "good old days" under still a bad, but better than this, Bush Administration!
"The habitual practice by conservative pundits of quoting only Rasmussen polling reinforces conservatives' overweening certainty that they embody public opinion. It's an important component of right-wing epistemic closure, the Republican base having its own pollster who always tells them what they want to hear. In theory, there ought to be a corrective dynamic. If Rasmussen is wrong about the 2010 elections -- and, again, you can't be certain he will be -- in theory, this would cause Republicans to question their reliance upon his unusual findings. But it's entirely possible that Republicans would simply question the validity of the results themselves. It's massive voter fraud! Obama dirty tricks! Having heard on a daily basis that the American public had rejected the Democrats wholeheartedly, disbelieving the validity of the election results would create less cognitive dissonance."
