The Leftwing extremist group called 'The Southern Poverty Law Center' of Montgomery, Alabama has with one stroke of the pen smeared conservatives and Patriots in its new, infamous 'blacklist' it entitles, 'Meet the Patriots.'

Among those it includes in the blacklist are some of the most reputable conservative Patriots in America today, such as U.S. Representative Michelle Bachmann (R-MN), federal judge and Fox News legal analyst Andrew Napolitano, U.S. Representative Ron Paul (R-TX), Gun Owners of America (GOA) chief Larry Pratt, Fox News personality Glenn Beck, and U.S. Representative Paul Broun (R-GA), among others.
To be sure, a few on the SPLC blacklist can be described as persons of questionable motivation and character. However, the Center deliberately and deftly weaves in this small minority with a cast of stellar conservatives with reputations that are above reproach.
Interestingly, the Center smears some of the most influential and dedicated American Patriots in the country who are mobilizing the efforts of concerned citizens to oppose the Marxist onslaught against our Constitutional Republic. Among these are Amanda Teegarden of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Mike Vangerboegh of Birmingham, Alabama, former Sheriff Richard Mack of Arizona, and Liberty Restoration Project leader Catherine Bleich of St. Lous, Mo.
In at least one case in particular, SPLC flat-out lied about one of the persons on its blacklist.
The Center claims that blogger and gun-rights enthusiast Mike Vanderboegh 'angrily called on Patriots to smash the windows' of Leftwing operatives in the country in the days following the approval of ObamaCare.
In the past Vanderboegh has written about 'the Window War' as a tactic of citizens who live under oppressive governments to send their elected representatives a message, particularly if they do not listen to the complaints, concerns, and desires of their constituents.
However, Vanderboegh never issued such an 'order' or proclamation, nor encouraged anyone to smash windows.
The 'Southern Poverty Law Center' is misnamed. Rather than focusing on providing legal aid to those who live in poverty the organization is actually an extremist Leftwing group that pushes an anti-Constitutional, pro-Socialist philosophy and 'monitors rightwing hate groups.'
It just so happens that anyone, anywhere who stands firmly for the political philososphy of our Founders, honors and defends the U.S. Constitution as THE final rule of law in the land, and fights against attempts by radical extremists to 'fundamentally change' America from a free, capitalistic society to a Marxist one, is automatically labeled as 'a dangerous extremist hate-group or individual.'
Noticeably absent from the Center's blacklist are such glowing role models of virtue and peace as Fred Phelps and his Westboro 'Baptist' Church. The word 'Baptist' is in quotes because the group is certainly not in line with Baptist beliefs and actually qualifies as a cult that exists only for the purpose of bashing gays. And the group has not only picketed gay parades but gathered to disrupt military funerals for our fighting men and women who gave their lives for their country. If this does not qualify as hate then one is hard-put to identify anything that does.
Yet Phelps is nowhere mentioned. But Joseph Farah of WorldNetDaily is on the list.
And naturally, extremist Leftwing hate groups are not on the list, such as Code Pink, PETA, ACORN, SEIU, and others that have actively engaged in violence against conservatives.
Perhaps the SPLC is not about calling attention to hate groups at all but singularly committed to smearing conservatives any way it can by lumping them together with the likes of Timothy McVeigh.
And that could well qualify the Southern Poverty Law Center as a 'hate group' in and of itself.

I think the word "Patriot" is used way too freely by both groups. The word is used on both sides, frequently to support an ideology not embraced by all. I would prefer that people begin using some of the other thousands of words available to make their points. Blanket words are rarely effective in changing anyone's mind on an issue.
True patriots even hate Beck. But they put Beck together with the patriots because Beck is being paid to streer the patriot agenda in the path the false right and left paradigm. Just like this group(SPLC) is a steering tool for the other end of the false right and left paradigm.
One day people are going to stand up and say "I am not affiliated with your right side, left side politics. Let's tople them both, by ensuring only patriots get elected."
An true election brochure will not include party logos. It will simply list off credentials, and what the person stands for.
It will be the patriots that do not align themselves with lobbyists and/or big business that will take over. One can only dream it that way anyway.
This doesn't surprise me. The irony is, the people who they HAVE placed on the list are all supporters of Israel. I'm an Israel supporter, too. You can be an anti-semitic Democrat and escape their radar, but if you are a Constitutionalist Republican that supports the Constitution AND ISRAEL you go onto the list.

I guess a left-wing extremist group is any group that disagrees with you, Anthony. Where are the smears in that report? It's just a collection of profiles of people who are undeniably leaders in the Tea Party movement.
I live near a few of these SLPC quacks. And thats exactly what they are. I find it very shocking that they make an extremist list and dont place their own name on it. The SPLC has ONE thing going for it,..it's name. It gets media attention without a background check. Because of it's name.
I urge anyone who doesnt believe what Im saying to research their activities themselves. Especially in the south in the last decade. They may as well be the modern day black panthers!

Don't they have any concern about credibility at ALL? First they define hate groups as anyone who is against their political agenda, then this.

Interestingly, for a group that brands itself as a foremost "civil rights group," NOT ONE of the SPLC's top ten, highest paid officers is a minority.
They put up photos of a diverse "Board of Directors," but when you click on their most recent IRS Form 990, not one of the directors, with the exception of SPLC co-founder Joe Levin is paid.
It's all so much brown-washing to dupe the donors.
The last remaining "Whites Only" sign in Montgomery hangs in the board room of the SPLC.

"Tea Party" is a contradiction in terms. The original Tea Party was in protest to "taxation without representation". As Joe Biden pointed out, our present taxes (and other draconian measures) come from representative government. The Left is very adept in pointing out semantic errors made by the Right. A better name for the tax protest would be "No Destruction With Representation" or "The New Founders", etc.

Its very telling on how many in the left are attacking these days,i was watching MSNBC the Ed show and he spent about five minutes calling everyone in the tea party racists.
Mr Potak sp? from the SPLC a few weeks ago was talking about the rise in hate crimes on MSNBC yet provided no clear proof.

SPLC "smears conservatives, patriots". Yes it does. But it smears anarchists, treehuggers too! It isn't 'left wing extremist', it attacks the left too, especially critics of Israel. You guys are making the same mistake as the left - cherry-picking the lies of the $PLC against you-all, and ignoring the slanders against your opponents. It's an enemy of freedom for everyone. It's so dangerous, everyone should unite against it. I've posted the same point on Indymedia (where I found this link by the way, so maybe there is hope...)
