Healthcare Reform Rallies coming to a city near you! Get your tickets early, Jesus Christ Superstar draws a big crowd!
The AP is reporting today that the president will be returning to his campaign comfort-zone, teleprompter-in-tow, to garner support for his massive healthcare overhaul.
President Barack Obama, facing challenges to his ambitious health care overhaul from Congress, is visiting supporters outside the capital and turning to them to muster up momentum for one of his top legislative priorities.
Obama on Thursday readied to fly to Green Bay, Wis., to talk directly with voters about his proposals to spend $1.5 trillion over the next decade to cover uninsured Americans. Administration aides said the visit was designed for Obama to build support for a health care overhaul that has eluded Democrats for decades, as well to inject a personal angle into a debate that affects some 50 million Americans without insurance.
Not surprisingly, Dan Grandone, a political aide responsible for heading up Obama's re-election campaign in Wisconsin, had this to say.
"When the debate heats up - which it is already is beginning to - the most powerful thing that we have at the grass roots level are people's stories." (AP)
Also reporting on the president's healthcare campaign stop, the Washington Post:
"When President Obama touches down today" in Green Bay, "he will be landing in one of the highest-value health communities in the nation, a city that by numerous measures has managed to control medical spending while steadily improving health outcomes." Obama's scheduled town hall meeting is "intended to spotlight one city's strategy for squeezing out waste without hurting quality."
"If we could make the rest of the nation practice medicine the way that Green Bay does, we would have higher quality and significantly lower costs," said Peter Orszag, the Obama administration budget chief who has emerged as a key player on health-care reform.
So this of course begs the question, if our friends in Green Bay are doing such a great job at keeping costs down whilst providing quality care without a national healthcare system, why do we need the Obamacare plan?
Following his townhall in Green Bay, the president will make a stop in Chicago, his 3rd since taking office four months ago. No word on whether or not he will have time for a "pick up game" or a date night with Michele when visiting his old stomping grounds.

Maybe he should go to his ranch in Texas........oh wait.... God forbid if he really did go on a date or shoot hoops. The Bush's never played golf did they? Horrible...This is all you Republicans can do now....get mad at Obama for proposing plans and gathering support for them. And to say that he is Jesus Christ?? That's so childish it makes me laugh. You people are so immature that you are getting all upset because he's popular and you just can't handle it. So you call him Jesus Christ and use that as a sort of "slam." It's pure jealousy. It's so transparent and you Republicans look like children. Get a grip.
Sure J... we look like the children... that is funny coming from an Obama supporter.
Children is fine though, it is you guys acting (and literally being) little spoiled brats.
Barry O is being called Jesus Christ Superstar because of the fact your side considers him some sort of "God"... and your media considers him a celebrity "Rock Star".
Live with the comparisons my friend... your guys asked for it.
J,
Just let them keep spouting off their half truths and falseties...Come election time, Rush, Bachmann, et. al. are all going to be
obliterated from having any political say at all (or at least less people will pay attention to them). My wish is that they'd
at least try to do a little better job of telling the truth. I suppose GW did teach 'em all something after all.
Regards,
TR
p.s. There was a recent comment to an earlier posting by someone named JB who referenced President Obama as NerObama.
Would you happen to know what he meant by that?
He doesn't seem to have the guts to step up and say what he meant by it....
Jersey Joe-
I guess I apologize for the millions of people who approve of our president and believe in his ways. Consider this our formal appology. We are deeply sorry that you Republicans have not found someone to believe in except a loud-mouth talk show host. We hope that one day you too will find someone whom you can believe in. Again we appologize for supporting our candidate and president. I know it is difficult to take and you are a little bitter about how the election went and how so many people supported President Obama. We hope that one day you too will find your Jesus Christ Superstar.
Jersey Joe -
You realize that your defense and attack on Obama is that the people who voted for him approve of him and like him....wow
Erin, I have a story idea for you. Take a look at my last post to get an idea of what I am talking about. I wrote about glaciers and global warming. Since I am in the travel section, I have to be careful to keep it in that category. And I am sure your research skills in politics are far superior to mine. I think you could make this into a great story. Just a thought.
