Hizbollah plan to gain foothold in Mexico twarted by authorities

As reported here on July 6th Hizbollah was working with Mexican drug cartels to established itself in Mexico as a means to strike at Israel (American Jews)  and the west.

A Kuwati newspaper, Al-Seyassah daily, reported today by way of Ha Aretz that Mexican authorities have foiled the latest attempts by Hizbollah to establish that beachhead.

What’s interesting is that Hizbollah enlisted Lebanese Mexicans with family ties in Lebanon to help them with this endeavor. There is a sizeable Lebanese population in Mexico. Whether this alliance was done willingly or through threats to loved ones' safety is not known.

“Mexican police mounted a surveillance operation on the group's leader, Jameel Nasr, who traveled frequently to Lebanon to receive information and instructions  from Hezbollah commanders there.”

Nasr was also observed traveling to other South American countries including a two month stay in Venezuela. It’s doesn’t take a lot to connect those dots to Iran.

Admiral James Stavridis, the commander in charge of overseeing U.S. military interests in the region, said "We have seen... an increase in a wide level of activity by the Iranian government in this region,"

Hizbollah as a proxy of Iran is not new to the area. It is widely believed that Hizbollah was responsible for the bombing of a Jewish cultural center in Buenos Aires in 1994 in which 85 died.

The concern now and reiterated by the admiral is that they have stepped up operations to gain these strategic footholds in the west.

If Iran does not seek war with the United States why is it sending Hizbollah to strengthen its presence in the region?

There is also a Congressional Report circa 2005 from the Department of Homeland Security that clearly states 165,000 non-Mexican illegal immigrants were captured crossing the border that year and of those, 650 were from special interest countries such as Afghanistan, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Pakistan, Sudan and Yemen. A news crew from Atlanta found individuals from each of these countries in an immigration detention facility after they tried to cross into the U.S. illegally.

Our border with Mexico is wide open. It is obvious that it is this border that makes the most common sense for terrorists to attempt infiltration.

The real problem is...we are too late and they are already here.
