When a jihadist opens fire killing 12 people at a military base yelling “"Allahu Akbar" (God is great) does that mean he is a Islamic terrorist committing terrorism ? Of course the obvious answer is yes but in wake of the tragic incident there is a rush to turn a blind eye into what actually constitutes a terrorist act and what does not and by whom.
It's so very important that, in president Obama's words, we don't rush to judgments. He seems to be too late with this advise because all the way down the chain of command investigators had done just that. But what judgment would we be rushing too, and what are we suppose to be implying when a judgment is made? Could we say that some Muslims are willing to kill and maim just about anyone that isn't Muslim in the name of God? Is that too harsh for anyone? Insulting, insensitive perhaps? What are we risking here, political correctness, someones feelings?
When an abortion doctor was murdered last year clearly it was an act of political terror. We know this not only because of the act itself but because the left had “jumped” to the right conclusions without the risk of insinuating that it was a Christian act by nature acted upon by a white male. If caution is the rule with jihadists, so they advise, it is clearly out the window when it comes to Christian males.
When it comes to Islamic terrorism we can say that most Muslims are not terrorist. Why is it automatic to assume that non-Muslims will think otherwise? Isn't that in itself a rush to judgment? Army chief of staff Gen. George Casey not only assumes this but thinks it is the most important aspect of the whole affair when he says:
"I think the speculation could potentially heighten backlash against some of our Muslim soldiers... And what happened at Fort Hood was a tragedy, but I believe it would be an even greater tragedy if our diversity becomes a casualty here."
Well, not quite. If given the choice of thirteen lives and the loss of diversity (whatever that means) which is the better choice? Aside from his distorted moral calculus, would the prudent thing to wonder about is not what the non-Muslims might be thinking but what some of those other Muslim soldiers that are serving might be doing?

LOL at this article. Truly greatness! This one is sure to upset many, many, delicate, sensitive, Liberal feelings. Kristy, JumT, Detroit, Wade, Scott, Joogoobooboo, and some of the other hit and run Libs will either get mad at the writers ramblings bc of the truth of it all or they will stay completely silent bc they don't "get it" -just like some of the other articles. Let's see how close that statement is. Hey! Where has Tex pete gone?
I'm right here CT STEVE, I hope you were able to get to your computer in the Blazer you drive. This article tells the truth. I'm waiting for Wade, Robertson, and Detroit. I hope JofT comes back. He's hilarious.
So far it looks as though Ct was correct in his prediction. The only response is from the guy from Texas with a bad attitude. It's all about being PC here with this military clown. BHO doesn't want to call it what it is (terrorism) because he is so afraid of hurting someone else's feelings. If it's not a terrorist act, will a Liberal please tell us just what it is and why? The Libs might not like Steve for his in your face comments but he does hit you guys in the face with a lots of truths. Maybe wishy-washy (Detroit) will comment since the others are apprehensive or maybe they went back into the woodwork?
Sheryl, some say it's just a guy going nuts! Steve, Why do you always include me in your rhetoric? I still think profiling is not very PC. I've never been for the death penalty but I can understand families feeling in favor of it in this case. Bad news...... I just heard about one of the vitims was due to have her baby in May '10.
This is an ignorant and bigoted article.
In Iraq we have Sunni and Shiites and Kurds at odds with each other. The goal of the US is to get them into a diversified Iraqi army. Are they going to love one another? Forget it. It's the biggest reason they cannot become a viable country. In the US we already have a diversified army. They are all Americans from atheist, Christian, Judaic, Muslim, Indian, Hindu backgrounds. It's called diversity.
Our fearless critic doesn't know what diversity means. That's ignorance. He is calling for retribution to American Muslim service men. That's bigoted. Is that a "liberal" point?
What "distorted moral calculus" is he talking about? I don't think the critic understands English.
As for calling retribution toward Muslim servicemen I have done nothing of a sort. The point was that you have Muslim and non-Muslim servicemen and woman. We know its possible the Army could have another jihadist, the first one proved this. Or is joft absolutely positively certain that we've seen the last one? The distorted morality here is that the General said losing diversity would be an "even GREATER tragedy" get that GREEEEAAAATERRRR tragedy then the incident itself which when you do the logic means the lives were less important then diversity itself. The other thing is when the General assumes "backlash" toward Muslim servicemen he assumes the worst from non-Muslims ie: making a judgment on racial grounds, while being indifferent on racial grounds to prevent more terrorism.
But if anything the article gave Joft a day in the morally-superior-because-I'm-more-tolerant sun. That's always a special occasion.
Why doesn't Talleos just come out and say "don't trust all Muslims"? And Joft is right when he points out that Talleos doesn't know what diversity means. You can't get any more bigoted than that.
Hey JumT is baaaaaaaaaaaaack with some very funny writings!!! I just knew this article would upset the Left. It had to hurt "feelings". I like to talk about the truth. Let's "profile" for a minute. Here's some "If it walks like a duck....." logic: When a person thinks the way Hasan thinks, writes the way he writes, speaks out the way he speaks out, gets truly angry towards us the way he gets angry, makes contact with our TERRORIST ENEMIES in the fashion he did, worships the way he worships, and shoots 50 rounds at the people that volunteered to fight, defend, and risk their lives for our country (this is the part that will anger the Left), HE MIGHT BE A TERRORIST. Duh! Profiling 101 complete. Profiling works and I am not concerned with JumT's problem with me saying it. PC out the window. oblabla is still trying to figure this situation out. If it walks like a duck....... P.S. I WILL SAY IT... We don't trust JumT, Wade or oblabla. How does the "feel" Mr. Wade?
Yep, here comes the inane logic. Could he care to tell us how the profiling would work. What's he proposing? Concentration camps for people with Islamic names?? We question all Muslims and ask them if they're jihadists?? Better yet we read their minds. Or is he telling us that profiling works. If so, he should tell us how, when, and where. What idiocy!
It's also possible that O'Reily, Limbaug, and Beck haven't said what they'd do either and therefore the right wing are left with nothing but rants.
It just struck me. I was wondering why Fox and all their bobble heads keep harping on getting after American Muslims or else we're doomed. Yet they won't say how they would do it. The reason is that they want you to think that the FBI, the CIA, and all law enforcement is under some kind of "political correctness" mission and are not doing their job. They refuse to say it head on. But you bobble heads will do it for them.
The critic is getting paranoid. The authorities are trying to do their job in rooting out jihadists. If you don't think so, say it clearly. Which part of that is "superior tolerance"?
Also, a suggestion, the column is so muddled I had to read it three time and I still can't see the point. Stop making me work.
JofT do you really believe that the so called "Bobbleheads" that you have called the Fox News Networks haven't said how to scrutinize the Muslim Sect of this country. Glen Beck has. Its called Profiling! I do not have a problem with that. I'll lay dollars to doughnuts that most Americans don't either. You seem to equate the by that by doing this we become bigoted. Am i right? I'd much prefer to see a Muslim woman in a Burkah being scanned and checked thouroughly in an airport then 80 year old Aunt Sally from Mobile, Alabama. PLEASE GET SERIOUS!
Hey CT STEVE do you really think that these writings from JofT and Wade are funny. I think its tragic. To think that Wadey would think that we would bite our tongues on the word "profiling". We just witnessed people get murdered in Ft. Hood Texas by an Islamic Extermist Coward. JofT is worried if we are going to set up concentration camps for Muslim Americans. The answer is No! But to someone who is paranoid, insecure, and wanting diversity i can see how that can be their line of thinking. There are more sophisticated forms of profiling then what was done during WWII. We would not put muslims in camps like we did to the Neisi Japanese. Lets let your President Hussein and his band of czars figure it out.....Or will they?
I know there are other people who read these blogs that have a different views then me and CT STEVE. Its time for you Chris Dodd, John Kerry, Whoopi Goldberg, Larry King, Rosie ODonnel, JofT, Wade, Jeanne Garafalo, Alan Colmes,Jesse Jackson,Al Sharpton, Barbara Mikulski, Hillary Clinton, Bill Clinton, Rachel Maddow, Keith Olbermann, Chris Matthews, George Lopez, Christina Aguilera, and Jimmy Carter types to step up and give opinions. I think you won't because deep down in your tormented souls, people of your political ilk choose to do like our pet cannines do, Turn tail and run. I hope those names were diverse enough for you JofT. I had 8 white men, 1 black female, 2 black men, 5 white women, 1 Hispanic male, 1 Hispanic female, and 2 others. As you would say what "HOGWASH"
JofT, I've been watching some of Fox (along with other media sources) lately and based on what you have said, I don't think you do. They truly do have a variety of opinions on the programs. It does seem to lean to the right just as the others lean left. Beck had a whole bunch of black people (about one hundred or so) on the show and it made me think of you and CT for various reasons. It was interesting. Different points of view do not bother me as they seem to bother you, CT, Tx, and Wade. Tell me if I'm wrong.
Its great to see that when the chips are down we can always count on these wingnut cons to give us a simple solution to a trumped up problem and that is assume that when you see a Muslim don't look at him or her as a US solder but as a potential terrorist until proven otherwise. After they have served and in need of assistance ctsteve and txpete could tell them governmnet is inefficent, fend for yourself, and by the way, convert to Christianity.
Then executed them slowly. Right Wade?
LOL
That's a little on the brutal side Steve.
Here's the latest from the Left.... Let's have a trial for KSM the mastermind terrorist behind 9-11 right here in the U.S. (New York City). Of course we will need to select a jury of his peers. We will need JumT, Hasan, Wade, Detroit, Pelosi, oblabla, Holder, Jooboogoobooboo, Kristy, Kerry, Bin Laden, and Biden to report right away!!! Sher can serve as an alternate. That should prove to make the trial of the century more than fair.
After the trial, the writer can write an article about how the jury found him "Not Guilty" and released him as an "undocumented worker" to appear with translator on the "View" the very next day. Then JumT, Wade, Joobooroo, Etc. will be blogging about how the writer "doesn't get it" and blame it all on Bush.
Coming to a Liberal theater near you! LOL.
Wade you have officially lost your mind. This Terrorist in Ft. Hood killed our service people, Who fought for your right to be free. Your blogs are becoming disgusting. Where is your patriotism? Do you have any? Remember this country where you go and get drunk every weekend was founded on Judeo-Christian values.
Based on this article John Talleos does not know what diversity is or even realize that most Muslims are as offended and appalled as most Christians are by acts like this.
Ignorance like this is dangerous.
Does anyone remember Oklahoma City in 1995? Based on this could we then assume all, most or even a fair number of Right Wing Conservatives (as Timothy McVeigh thought of himself) are terrorists?
I did not think it possible but John Talleos has managed to amaze me with his ignorance and arrogance.
When Kristy was reading this she must have been distracted when she came to the part where it says: "When it comes to Islamic terrorism we can say that most Muslims are not terrorist. Why is it automatic to assume that non-Muslims will think otherwise?" Because she thinks she's making a counter-point when she says the very same thing with: "Does anyone remember Oklahoma City in 1995? Based on this could we then assume all, most or even a fair number of Right Wing Conservatives (as Timothy McVeigh thought of himself) are terrorists?".
Just like JofT below it is more important to make the charge of intolerance without even having to read or understand the article to which they make the charge.
As I said before the article makes no sense. Is it a definition of judgment? Is it a judgment? What is the judgment? It's too muddled to be taken seriously.
I'd like to thank the other bobble heads for explaining what they would do. You see, it's simple. You find a women with a burka and the you x-ray her. Wow! Let's expand on that. If someone has a name that sounds middle eastern let's x-ray them. Boy, I knew you guys would display great intellectualism. I think you guys should dash off your suggestions to the FBI, CIA, Sheriffs office etc. Again, wow!!!
Kristy, what do you consider yourself to be? You can't be a Conservative right? Mcveigh was not a true Conservative. He might have called himself that but...
JipT, You make comment on your personal confusion with respect to the tabloids. Do you really think a true Conservative could write that stuff. We are not that creative. Seriously. We are plain, straight forward, small Go-Ment, simple-thinking folks and not too good with creating out of the box writing, sculpting, nude photos, rap music, or decorating. I bet Barney Frank is a GREAT decorator. LOL
We all know Conservatives don't buy, need, or read that tabloid crap. Libs are interested in that stuff. We Conservatives have our Consservative values. You Libs have the tabloids, The View, pelosi, George Steponopolis, and yourselves.
What part do you still not understand?
Let's review like this: I have a Lib friend who actually thought Palin said "I can see Russia from my house" because he read that on the cover of a tabloid.
Can't argue with a "simple thinking folk".
I know lots of people that read the tabloids and believe what they read. They think that stuff is true because it's in print.
Hey JumT, were the founding fathers like you? Were they Libs too? Did they have a vision for the U.S. being "progressive"? Did they prefer less taxation? Did they insist we all have a "right" to health care? Did they have Christian values? Did they believe our big Go-Ment should be small in scope and range? What do you think?
I will wait for your response (probably forever). LOL.
Got something to say?
