Jesse Jackson makes a new race rule

The Rev Jesse Jackson in a speech before  the Congressional Black Caucas Foundation Wednesday night (11/18)  bestowed a new rule: "“You can’t vote against healthcare and call yourself a black man.”.  This only applies if anyone happens to ask, obviously, but if someone does they have to say  the new rules have kicked them out, so saythe Mr. Jackson.   The motion was second by CBC member Rep. Emanuel Cleaver (D-Mo.): "You can’t vote against healthcare and call yourself a black man." repeating the remark without deviation or embellishment, then without asking bravely added an amendment to the rule: "If it is an issue that disproportionately impacts black folks, race has to be considered ".

The new rule is an attempt to not have a repeat of CBC member Rep. Artur Davis (D-Ala.) who voted against healthcare reform in the house.  It's not 100% certain that the new rules are in reaction to his no vote though because the Rev. Jesse Jackson added afterward that he "didn't call anybody by name and I won't." leaving the crowd to wonder who the perpetrator might be.  As of this writing Rep. Artur Davis is still a black man.

Rep. Davis is in a primary battle for governor of Alabama.  His misstep was so out of step, so uncharacteristic of what is expected of him (which now, thanks the Rev Jackson, can kick you out) as a black man that even his white opponent Agriculture Commissioner Ron Sparks took him to task by asking  “He was the only Black Caucus member to vote against it. I don’t get it,” (AP).   We will have to wait for a primary debate so that Rep. Davis could reconcile his race with his voting record to Mr. Sparks satisfaction.

Actually I don't care much for the Jackson remark cited by our fearless critic. But I do agree with Jackson's other remarks in the same article. Here it is:
"He added that he wasn't saying that black lawmakers must vote a certain way. Instead, they should vote the interests of the people in their districts, and he said the healthcare bill would help Alabama because it's one of the poorest states in the country.

"The poorest people need healthcare protection," Jackson said. "They have the highest infant mortality and the lowest life expectancy. They're dying from lack of access."

Our critic, naturally, is forever focused on non-essentials. The debate is about health care, not race.

Can you just imagine if a white man talked like this to an all white organization? Oh, right, that will never happen. That would be racist.

Has anyone read about Henry Ford's attempt to help the "less fortunate" people in the Detroit area? Henry wanted to help ALL the "poorest people" with a guaranteed job, UAW protection, free training, a pay check, free Blue-Cross Blue-Sheild health and dental insurance for the entire family, open work schedule, vacation time, benefits, self-esteem (sp?), good pay, Etc. Henry said, "helping them would help our great city." So, he put them to work. What a deal right?
Has anyone read about his attempts?

JofT is championing the case for Jesse Jackson. I remember when President Bill Clinton used him as a mentor during his presidency. This was during the time when he was having problems getting caught with all the women in the White House. Problem was Jesse fathered a child out of wedlock when he was married. How can you take Jesse seriously, Dr. Ralph Abernathy who was Dr. Kings right hand man, wrote a book before he passed away. The book is titled "And the walls came tumbling down". In it he calls Jesse a "poverty pimp". That should about sum up Mr. Jackson.

Hey JofT If this debate is about Health Care not race, Call Jesse Jackson and tell him that. He's the one who brought it up. While you are at it call the following Maxine Waters, Al Sharpton,Major Owens,Charles Rangel,Eddie Bernice Johnson,John Conyers, and all the rest of the people in the Congressional Black Caucus. They are always playing the race card! BROOD OF VIPERS!!!!!

OK. Have it your way. Rant away about Jackson etc. Keep smoldering and resenting in the usual manner all the more nurturing your know-nothingness.

Manyh on the Left won't side with JJ as he makes his racist comments. The Left won't disagree with him either as JJ continues to insult my intelligence! Detroit, I've heard about the Ford project and it had the same outcome as our big go-ment hand-outs have for anyone that cries out for more. Right? It simply does not work. People must "want" to work and "want" to be fairly successful. Hand-outs have never worked and they never will. Hand-outs create future generations of dependant people on hand-outs. I have first hand knowledge of this fact. I have an entire family on all the big go-ment handouts out there. It's sad how it can ruin a person's motivation. Two of my brothers were "handed" good paying jobs here and they continue to draw from the "system" instead. They think they are beating the system by "out smarting" it. It's sad.

My nemesis says eight words, "I don't care much for the Jackson remark", dismissing JJ in his moment of Liberalism. Then he immediately uses eighty-eight words to defend JJ. JumT has just "circled the wagon", in my opinion, He is actually defending JJ by looking for other comments that JumT could agree with instead of what the article was about. The article was about 'me'. It's about how JJ says that I can't call myself a black man. Well, I call myself a black man and I am completely against the public plan. Didn't the writer talk about this "circling" phenomenon in one of his articles?
Just the oposite happens when Palin speaks. She says a lot of good stuff and then JumT and his progressive Left start digging for some bad stuff to talk about and they talk about the bad stuff -even if some of it aint true. Too funny.
**The writer should write an article about how Big Go-Ment has created jobs and created extra congressional districts to track the progressive job-creating progress. LOL

Hey JumT, You quoted, "the poorest people need healthcare protection". Let me ask you this question, why don't we offer a Public Plan for all Americans that guarantees three square meals of good, quality food on a daily basis? Let's just deliver it right to the front door. Afterall, poor people hurt for food before they need an insurance policy right? I will be very patient and watch for your response! Next week we can talk about poor people and free housing. In December, free new cars (transportation) will be the topic. Oh and let's not forget to squeeze a Public Plan for energy, clothing, and lotto tickets too! Those are important RIGHTS! In January we will need to have a sit-down about the Liberal expression "Cats are people too". We are still trying to figure that one out. LOL

I heard Jackson say, "I'm not a racist" the other day. I think he believes that.
