With just a few days notice, the 9.12 Project in Colorado organized a Vigil for Our America at the Colorado State Capitol this afternoon with around 500 citizens protesting the government takeover of their health care. The crowd gathered to state their resolve to uphold the Constitution and to restore America to the people. They even participated in a mass vow to defend the Constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic, the same vow taken by members of Congress and the military.

Although those present realized the passing of the health care bill was imminent, they do not see this as the end of their fight. These protesters have no intention of stopping and called for a final reconciliation on November 2, 2010. “We now know who our enemies are,” said Mary Deb Hedges of the Evergreen/Conifer Tea Party.

The crowd gathered on the west steps of the Capitol with members of the crowd spontaneously standing and speaking. Speakers ranged from candidates to grassroots organizers and their members. Lu Busse, chair of the 9.12 Project in Colorado, spoke not of defeat but of continuing the fight. She told the gathering of the coordinated efforts of state attorney generals across the nation to file papers against the unconstitutional bill in the morning, of which Colorado State Attorney General John Suthers will participate. In addition to removing the politicians in the next election, other legal avenues suggested were a tax revolt or a mass filing of tax extensions. However, at least one protestor wanting to take the fight to another level became involved a public heated debate with two other activists who advocated keeping the fight peaceful.

After the speakers, the protesters filed down to Lincoln where they lined both sides of the street, receiving support with the honking of horns from drivers passing by while they chanted, “Kill the Bill.” Although the media was absent during most of the rally, KCNC-4 did show up for the latter part of the rally. KUSA-9 and KMGH-7 did not cover the story.

The next Tea Party gathering in Denver is March 31, when the Tea Party Express III rolls into town. This will be followed the Second Annual April 15th Tax Day Tea Party which promoters are hoping will be twice as large as the one in 2009.

    Repeal Government Intrusion!

When the going gets tough the tough get going!
    A reminder to all-
the Democrats have clearly demonstrated that they do not care what the people say and will vote for what the president wants.
They will remain in power until January 3rd,2011 and are likely to use every day even as lame ducks to institute those items to cement their socialism, including the Amnesty bill.
Americans can put their productivity to work to impede and reverse this assault on individual freedom, and free enterprise.

    Repeal government intrusion!
