A large crowd of Colorado voters gathered at the State Capitol yesterday to join Jon Caldara at his “Free Our Health Care Rally.” Caldara, president of the Independence Institute, joined with State Representative Cindy Acree to compel state lawmakers to exercise the Tenth Amendment against ObamaCare. Caldara is working on a ballot initiative to amend the Colorado Constitution to exempt Colorado from federally-mandated health care. Although he is still in the process of writing the initiative, he plans for it to be on the November ballot. “We’ve got one goal and really one goal only today - is that we need to get a message to them [the state legislature] that the fight against ObamaCare has moved from DC to this building, and if they don’t stop it we will at the ballot box this fall with an initiative.”
Representative Acree also plans to introduce legislation this session to enforce the Tenth Amendment. “We need to preserve our rights as a state to determine what’s best for our families in Colorado. The Tenth Amendment of the Constitution clearly states that the powers vested in the federal government are explicitly implied or otherwise left to the states and to the people. We are the people. We will be heard,” she said.
Caldara stated that two-thirds of the country does not want health care reform, but Congress will not listen. “We are here to say something very simple. We will not be ignored,” he said. He also discussed the Massachusetts senatorial election and declared, “Massachusetts is the only state in the nation that already has ObamaCare. They’ve lived under ObamaCare, is it any surprise that they are the ones to reject it?”
Other speakers included a neurosurgeon, legislators, and activists, including Jeff Crank of Americans for Prosperity. “They will listen to us now or they will listen to us on Election Day. It is that simple,” Crank said.

WARNING: Robert Corry is the wrong person for our movement, and could in fact bring it down.
I guarantee you that the Corrys will spin Roberts sex-assault conviction, and his prior gun charge. They will make it sound like its no big deal; or that it was politically motivated. You dont go to jail and receive 5 years probation for no big deal. Also, when they played the adultery card and begged for mercy, the judge presiding over the case said the following:
What this has to do with is, is that you chose to go into the room and sexually assault a woman who did not want that. The mercy I have shown in this case was by accepting the plea agreement.
A warning to all the readers who care about the medical marijuana movement: Dont get caught up with Robert Corry and his wife Jessica Peck Corry. They will take our movement down. When someone doesnt learn his lesson the first time, or in this case, the second time, they are apt to offend again, and again, and again.
