U.S. placed under international police-state

In the dead of night on December 17, 2009, President Barack Hussein Obama placed the United States of America under the authority of the international police organization known as INTERPOL, granting the organization full immunity to operate within the United States.

(AP Photo/Peter Dejong).

According to Threatswatch:

Last Thursday, December 17, 2009, The White House released an Executive Order "Amending Executive Order 12425." It grants INTERPOL (International Criminal Police Organization) a new level of full diplomatic immunity afforded to foreign embassies and select other "International Organizations" as set forth in the United States International Organizations Immunities Act of 1945.

By removing language from President Reagan's 1983 Executive Order 12425, this international law enforcement body now operates - now operates - on American soil beyond the reach of our own top law enforcement arm, the FBI, and is immune from Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA) requests.

What, exactly does this mean?  It means that INTERPOL now has the full authority to conduct investigations and other law enforcement activities on U.S. soil, with full immunity from U.S. laws such as the Freedom of Information Act and with complete independence from oversight from the FBI.

In short, a global law enforcement entity now has full law-enforcement authority in the U.S. without any check on its power afforded by U.S. law and U.S. law enforcement agencies.

A bit of background is in order here, and Hot Air provides it:

During his presidency, Ronald Reagan granted the global police agency Interpol the status of diplomatic personnel in order to engage more constructively on international law enforcement.  In Executive Order 12425, Reagan made two exceptions to that status.  The first had to do with taxation, but the second was to make sure that Interpol had the same accountability for its actions as American law enforcement — namely, they had to produce records when demanded by courts and could not have immunity for their actions.

Barack Obama unexpectedly revoked those exceptions in a change to EO 12425 last (week)...

Thus, Interpol now can conduct its operations on U.S. soil with ZERO accountability to anyone in this country.

And you beginning to understand now just what the 'end game' is on the part of those who are currently running the U.S. Government?

Let's go a step further in fleshing out exactly what this means in practical terms.  It gets ugly...and scary.  Again, from ThreatsWatch:

Section 2c of the United States International Organizations Immunities Act is the crucial piece.

Property and assets of international organizations, wherever located and by whomsoever held, shall be immune from search, unless such immunity be expressly waived, and from confiscation. The archives of international organizations shall be inviolable. (Emphasis added.)

Inviolable archives means INTERPOL records are beyond US citizens' Freedom of Information Act requests and from American legal or investigative discovery ("unless such immunity be expressly waived.")

Property and assets being immune from search and confiscation means precisely that. Wherever they may be in the United States. This could conceivably include human assets - Americans arrested on our soil by INTERPOL officers.

Why would INTERPOL be arresting American citizens on our own soil, without oversight from our own law enforcement agencies?  And remember, citizens who are thusly arrested would have no legal authority to demand full documentation from the International Police concerning the charges brought against them.

Andy McCarthy at National Review asks these crucial, sobering questions of the secretive Obama order:

Why would we elevate an international police force above American law? Why would we immunize an international police force from the limitations that constrain the FBI and other American law-enforcement agencies? Why is it suddenly necessary to have, within the Justice Department, a repository for stashing government files which, therefore, will be beyond the ability of Congress, American law-enforcement, the media, and the American people to scrutinize?

At least one answer to these questions is very clear.  A coup is underway in the United States of America, the goal of which is to establish complete, unquestioned authority over the citizens--a 'fundamental change' to the United States where citizens have no legal recourse against an authoritarian central government.

It appears our only recourse is to kill the foreign SOBs. Clean your weapons, get your affairs in order, organize your equipment and supplies and prepare to defend your freedom from enemy foreign agents!

Personally, I think those who authorized this unconstitutional invasion should be tarred, feathered and HUNG as traitors to the U.S and our constitution.

Apathy got us to where we are and will take us all the way to totalitarianism -- and we DON'T have far to go at this point.

Personally, as an armed society I think this will end badly. I don't think INTERPOL has ever run up against a C&C permit area so this wont work well. But hey, welcome to the US. And all its loving firearms.

A whole lot of this article plays upon fear and speculation. Where was all of this during the last administration when warrantless wiretapping become commonplace, or when innocent people were taken into custody and left to rot for years by our government? How about Blackwater militia members being given immunity after gunning down innocent Iraqi citizens? Those actually happened, yet where was the outrage exhibited by the author of this article, Mr. Martin? Were those things necessary, or even good, for our country to fight terrorism?

Interpol should realize that Americans, unlike Iranians, can fight back with more than rocks.

"And how we burned in the camps later, thinking: What would things have been like if every Security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive and had to say good-bye to his family? Or if, during periods of mass arrests, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of the entire city, people had not simply sat there in their lairs, paling in terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand? [...] The Organs would very quickly have suffered a shortage of officers and transport and, notwithstanding all of Stalin's thirst, the cursed machine would have ground to a halt!" —Alexander Solzhenitsyn, The Gulag Arc

I'm sure the average American will not recognize the so-called authority of INTERPOL, and I doubt they are prepared to exert their authority over an armed populace. It would only take one incident to implode the whole concept; the people would not stand for it.

BTW RoxtarRyan, name one "innocent" person detained and left to rot by GWB.

And you'll discover that Interpol doesn't actually have officers that run around arresting people. They coordinate activities between law enforcement agencies like the FBI and the RCMP.

I did notice the Reagan EO excluded Section 2D.

That is the only section not named in Obama's amendment.

    The law for 2D reads:

    Sec. 2.

International organizations shall enjoy the status, immunities, exemptions, and privileges set forth in this section, as follows:

    (d) Insofar as concerns customs duties and internal-revenue taxes imposed upon or by reason of importation, and the procedures in connection therewith; the registration of foreign agents; and the treatment of official communications, the privileges, exemptions, and immunities to which international organizations shall be entitled shall be those accorded under similar circumstances to foreign governments.

What is the impact of leaving that exception in place.. or is it?

Obama's power ambitions are beyond the U.S., he wants the United Nations and for that is capable to sell his soul. He wants it all. That's the main reason he has betrayed this country and bows –literally- to every king, czar, etc. of ANY other country on his international tours, to gain their sympathy. The U.S. is cause of international laughter, so much as the idiot, vulgar third world’s president of Venezuela Hugo Chavez prides to insult us publicly.

INTERPOL will be monitored globally, therefore any action they might do that gives the immunity will be scrutinized by the entire world. The FBI and the White House need someone to watch over what they do as they should not be allowed to freely do as they please. The FBI conducts all kinds of illegal 'experiments' to help progress the corporate agenda! And corporations that KILL you and me are protected by lobbyists and the FBI, they need to follow the law too!
Additionally, Bush gave immunity to himself and all others in his cabinet so that they don't get charged with things like 'crimes against humanity', why don't we hear anything about that?

It might be hard for Europeans, or our home grown European wannabe's to understand why some object so strongly to this. but on the whole the US Constitution main purpose is to limit the power of the government. The idea of a police force operating in the US who does not fall under the control of an elected (or appointee of an elected) American official is disgusting.

I am not a 'citizen of the world' and I have/will take no oath to that effect. Nor do I recognize international buerocrats as having any authority over me. For the Obama administration to allow this is Treason against the American People..

Not to mention if you were being arrested by some one who's not from your own country, chances are you'll give them a big f*#k you, or go out fighting.

Crime does not stop at borders, every country has a national responsibility to bring criminals to justice doing this will only reduce red tape and make it easier for criminals to be brought to justice. Also unless you are an internationally searched criminal you have nothing to worry about from Interpol. Your goverment how ever is notorious for causing civil unrest, political assassinations and torture on it's prisoners. I'd be more scared of that than Interpol.

This goes against everything America stands for. Could you imagine if all of the awful laws and bills and acts of the past 9 years were signed in one day and released to the public? We would go insane and murder people. I seriously doubt that if these laws were passed in the 1950's a coup d'etat would have taken place by our citizenry. No way, would the American's that had just saved the world from tyranny allow it to happen in their own country. Good thing they are all dead and buried, everyone of them is doing a barrel role in their grave. Wake up Goldfish.
