Obama threatens Congressman; intimidation tactic continues

For the record it is important to keep in mind that U.S. Representative Peter DeFazio, D-Oregon, is a liberal.  Yet despite DeFazio's credentials within the Democratic Party, Barack Obama threatened the Congressman, thus continuing with the White House modus operandi of intimidation.

According to The Hill,

“I would have less of a voice and I would have less respect if I voted for things I didn’t believe in because of pressure from the leadership,” DeFazio told The Hill in an interview.

Obama himself has taken notice.

“Don’t think we’re not keeping score, brother,” Obama told DeFazio during a closed-door meeting of the House Democratic Caucus, according to members afterward.

So Obama admits that he is ' keeping score.'

What, exactly, does that mean coming from this President?

We have some clues.  Just this week it was disclosed that Obama threatened U.S. Senator Ben Nelson, D-Nebraska, with shutting down the airforce base located in the state unless the Senator changes his mind and votes in favor of the government takeover of healthcare.

There is some dispute as to whether or not such a direct threat took place, however.  But such a thing would fit the pattern set by Obama and company going all the way back to the 2008 campaign when radio stations and reporters were threatened by the Obama-thugs if they dared portray 'the one' in a negative light.

And then there is the verified threat Obama delivered against the Israelis--either halt settlements in Gaza or face the possible consequences of having U.S. protections against nuclear attack from Iran removed.  Of course, now we know that Obama did, indeed, remove such a defensive shield as Israel essentially told Obama to go shove it.

Regarding Rep. DeFazio, the Congressman was one of only a tiny minority of Democrats who voted against Obama's TARP stimulus package and the Climate-change bill:

Personal calls from Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and former Vice President Al Gore couldn’t persuade him to vote for the Speaker’s climate change bill. He also opposed the $787 billion stimulus, citing concerns that only 7 percent was devoted to infrastructure spending.

DeFazio was one of only two Democrats to vote against those measures and the $700 billion bank bailout. (The other was Rep. Gene Taylor (D-Miss.) a Blue Dog conservative.)

Yet he’s also a pro-gun Democrat who has a B rating from the National Rifle Association.

But Obama and his Chicago gangland thugs such as Rahm Emanuel do not take kindly to those within the Party who dare think for themselves.

Oh, and by the way, Mr. President, you are not the only one 'keeping score.'

He may end up causing some of us to run up the score we are keeping.

Another poor article by the Examiner. Are you people there just stupid or do you like stating the obvious. There is a reasonable amount of pressure that is put upon people to get what you want. It is called diplomacy. But I guess you need to make your 5 daily anti-Obama stories to fill your quotas.

FYI, Okie, we provide a balance since 99% of print and TV media refuse to present ANY news that casts the great Obama in a negative light. There is plenty about him the people need to know, but they won't find out if they are depending on traditional sources of news, that's for sure.

So, as long as real journalism exists, we will be here, day in and day out, investigating, probing, asking hard questions, confronting the scandal, and doing whatever is necessary to get the real news to the people, that is, for those who wish to read it instead of sticking their heads in the sand and pretending nothing is wrong with their Fuhrer.

There is a difference between putting pressure on people and what this administration has been doing. Their "pressure" (along with those of the progressives) amounts to extortion, blackmail and thuggery...all of which is illegal if committed by private citizens. Why is it OK for our elected representatives to use them as tools to get what THEY want? It isn't even what the people want...it is what THEY want.

While I'm glad and reassured to know that someone is (somewhat self-righteously) "confronting the scandal", it might interest you to note that from my perspective this article is shockingly biased.

No wonder it's a blog rather than traditional print media, hey?

Thank you for showing the side of Osama that the mainstream media refuses to display. This is sickening to think that he is 'keeping score' that's extremely immature and something I don't want my president to be doing. Reminds me of Reagan...
