The Obama executive order granting INTERPOL--the International Police Organization--immunity from U.S. law is a story that won't go away.
At first only a tiny group of astute bloggers sounded the alarm about the issue. But now not only has the story gone viral but the state-run media (SRM) has picked up on it.

Although he has been unable to get any answers due to White House stonewalling, ABC News' Jake Tapper has written about the order even though, unfortunately, he seems to think the biggest story coming out of it is conservative ire.
The New York Times took a similar point of view.
To say that it is disturbing and troublesome that the traditional, established media would ignore serious questions about the executive order and focus instead on conservative reaction would be an understatement. The function of a free press is to question everything in order to get to the truth.
But today's traditional media, which I call the 'state-run media' due to its unprecedented allegiance to and cheerleading for the Obama Administration, barely questions anything this President does until such a furor is raised among bloggers that they are forced to deal with the issue. And even then, they deflect and divert attention to an insignificant part of the story--the ire of conservatives--in order to avoid dealing with the substantive questions that Obama's actions have evoked.
Andy McCarthy of National Review, who was one of the first conservative columnists to write about the Obama executive order just prior to Christmas, provided a follow-up yesterday which shows just how closely INTERPOL works with the ominous International Criminal Court of the European Union--a charge that apologists for both INTERPOL and the Administration are quick to deny:
Mark Tapscott has thoughts at the Washington Examiner. Mark points out something I'd forgotten: "Interpol and ICC [the International Criminal Court] . . . took seriously Iran's Oct. 3, 2009, request that 25 top Israeli civilian and military officials be placed on the international 'Most Wanted' list because of their actions in Gaza against murderous Palestinian radicals."
INTERPOL, working in conjunction with the International Criminal Court--the entity that wishes to haul in American officials to face charges of 'war crimes' and other such nonsense--made sure that Israelis, not 'Palestinians,' were placed on the international 'most wanted' list.
Tapscott goes further in the Washington Examiner to 'lay it on the line in plain English' what the Obama executive order means:
To begin, Obama is the first president to give an international law enforcement organization like Interpol free rein within the territorial confines of this nation, presumably not excluding the arrest and exportation of Americans to be charged with crimes under international law.
Put simply, this means the Constitution is no longer the supreme law of the land in America. Thanks to Executive Order 12425 , which Obama signed Dec. 16 without explaining why, the supreme law of the land is now arguably whatever Interpol says it is, most likely as directed by the International Criminal Court in The Hague, Netherlands, in conjunction with the United Nations.
Of course this raises a plethora of new questions concerning the order to be added to the already rather large and growing list:
So tell us, Mr. President, why do you think Interpol should operate with no accountability and no transparency in our country? Is this what you had in mind in your 2008 presidential campaign when you said "we've got to have a civilian national security force that is just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded" as the U.S. military?
Pentagon generals and admirals answer to the president and Congress. Under Obama, Interpol answers to no American.
Remember, Obama himself stated more than once during the 2008 campaign that he intended to establish a 'civilian national security force' that would be every bit as powerful as the U.S. Military. The problem is, there is no Constitutional authority granted for such a civilian force within this free republic.
Is Obama, therefore, getting in position to use INTERPOL as that 'civilian force' as a means to do an 'end-run' around the Constitution?
And then, there are these searing questions that Tapscott insists be answered:
If there is nothing newsworthy involved, then why won't the White House answer these basic questions regarding the EO?
* Every other international organization granted such exemptions deals with mundane issues like fish - the International Pacific Halibut Commission - or disaster aid - the Red Cross. But Interpol is a law enforcement operation. Why does President Obama think it appropriate to give such exemptions to an international law enforcement operation, and what does he want Interpol to do here in the U.S. in the future with the exemptions that it cannot do now without the exemptions?
* Does the search and seizure exemption extend to the activities and documents created by U.S. Department of Justice employees working with and for Interpol in New York and Washington, D.C.? If these employees and activities were already exempt from coverage of the federal Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), why have FOIA requests concerning them been previously answered?
To be sure, the latter question rips to shreds the notion that Obama's changes to the original executive order in 1983 'amount to no significant changes.'
The illogic of such an assertion is astounding. If the changes amount to 'no significant changes,' then why change them?

Obama and his cronies are selling us all out and should be impeached and tried for treason.

Obama has again violated his oath of office to protect and defend the Constitution as the Supreme Law of the Land. Impeachment is warranted. While we're at it, we should round up the majority of judges in this country and give them their due also. Many in Congress will get theirs in November.
You don't seem to understand the basic facts about Interpol and what they do.

Interpol does not arrest people, and even if they could they wouldn't be able to do so within the US.
Will, if you want facts don't look for them on a liberal blog, like the one you linked, because they don't provide any. Instead, why not try the Interpol website itself or, the U.S. Dept. of Justice. You see, Interpol does arrest people - it does it via the Central National Bureaus it maintains in each member country. Each is made up of law enforcement from the member country but they actually work for Interpol. They then request assistance from other agencies of the member country in the arrest. Since in the U.S. the Interpol CNB is part of the Obama/Eric Holder DOJ, it is no stretch to see them having FBI and U.S. Interpol CNB agents arresting Americans who disagree with Obama policy that Obama deems to be of an international nature. This is setting up our troops and Bush/Cheney to be tried for war crimes in the ICC, which will only be the beginning.

Mr. Martin,
Here is the link to the Clinton EO that I was referring to from the last article in which I asked you if Congress can repeal an EO.
eagleforum.org/column/1998/aug98/98-08-05.html
Pajamas, thanks.
And as I said, Congress can address an issue raised in an EO anytime it wants...and if it can muster the votes needed it can void an EO.
But, I think, there was your original question concerning Congress having some sort of veto power within 90 days of an EO. I haven't been able to find any such stipulation.

Be afraid. Be very afraid.
If the UN takes over, will Obama be in charge of the UN or will the UN be in charge of Obama? Will George Soros lead the world? Is the UN taking over other countries too? Will Obama be in charge of them? How powerful will ACORN be?
There is absolutely NO REASON I can find for BHO doing this.... with that said WHY THE HECK did he do it? I think he may have forgotten that he works for us!
Obama was elected to destroy the US. This wasn't a mistake in judgement. He has no ties to the United States and no regard for its constitution or its statutes. It is his agenda to teardown the foundations of this country, to change what makes America different than all other nations on the earth. His agenda is to make us look more like europe. This is just one more step along the way. In this years elections we have an opportunity to slow his progress down by electing some real opposition.

This Writer seems worried that someone is finally cracking down on the War Crimes that were committed by the last administration. tell me Sir, why are you so worried ? do you know that they are guilty ? believe me when i say: America, it is time to pay the Piper, and your foreign Debts or you as a Nation are done.
maybe this Writer is worried that the Crimes against Humanity that are being committed by the forces of the USA are finally being exposed. handcuffing Children, dragging them into the street and shooting them like Dogs are of the same nature as your Crimes in Vietnam. it is the same thing that also ended that war. remember hightailing out of Vietnam ? you can not peddle democracy while committing war crimes.
Why do we need an outside police agency in our country when we have our own police, FBI, CIA, NSA, DEA etc? Why a foreign entity exempt from our laws and also protected by our laws at the same time? Less than a year as President and the POTUS is freely exposing our country to foreign power and placing the American citizen under their unlimited authority. In the next 3 years America as we know it now and historically will no longer exist.
Lyon Reality:
Your point is a non-issue. It doesn't matter what you call their 'personnel.' Bureaucrats is fine with me. It makes no difference. They have been granted full immunity from U.S. Law, placed above the Constitution, and they most certainly DO gather info, investigate, and help our law enforcement agencies catch those charged with crimes.
Call them anything you wish. I repeat. It does not matter what you call them. The point is the same--they are granted immunity from our laws to operated on our own soil.
I take it you are fine with that. Most Americans are not.
Mr. Fisher,
Actually the ONLY thing I'm concerned about is the relentless attack on U.S. sovereignty by this Administration and its supporters, who obviously have no more regard for the Constitution that a piece of toilet paper.
And THAT, my friend, is treason.
more change we can believe in
giving the Gestapo free reign over us
taking a big dump on the Bill of Rights.
and the 5 - 4 conservative? court doesn't say this is unconstitutional?
they just keep on pushing us around
thank you thank you for bringing all this information under one article. we are doomed if we no longer have our contitution, we will become a barbaric nation
