How to get rid of government 'dead wood' without firing a shot

'Government dead wood'--the term I use to describe those who live off the taxes of others, including elected officials who propose bigger and more powerful government, along with their constituents who hold out their hands for the loot--can be permanently removed from power without firing a single shot.

On occasion I have been accused of wishing to spearhead an armed revolution designed to re-establish Constitutional law in this country at gunpoint.  Nothing could be further from the truth.

Never being one to advocate the use of firearms except in self-defense, I would never support violence in pursuit of conservative goals, unless, of course, it were in self-defense.  Any government that would initiate violence against citizens who merely wish to exercise their God-given rights deserves whatever means of self-defense the citizens choose to utilize.

Had only the Jews prior to the Holocaust decided, en mass, to resist the Nazi scourge with the use of firearms.

Under most conditions, however, such armed resistance isn't necessary.

I was reminded of this fact most powerfully as I read excerpts from a book I intend to purchase entitled, Starving the Monkeys, by Tom Baugh.

According to Baugh, a monkey is anyone who decides that he/she should live off of the hard-earned money, confiscated through taxes, provided by the conscientious, productive citizens who believe in self-sufficiency.

As an added bonus to starving out these 'monkeys,' the plan of action he suggests would have the most pleasant side-effect of drying up the resources of big government and its trillion-dollar programs that are designed to do nothing more than micro-manage our lives and control every aspect of our being.

In order to get the full impact of Baugh's plan, one must read the book.  But here I will mention the key feature, which I believe is worth careful consideration and debate among those who are deeply disturbed by the current course of our nation.

Since fully 75% or so of the American working public is employed by small business, the key to striking back at the Marxist statists is to starve the beast.  This is done by all small business owners deciding, in tandem, to immediately fire ALL of their employees.

Now, before you think I have completely lost my mind, hear me out.

Baugh would then have these business owners instruct their former employees to incorporate themselves, whereupon they would then hire them back as independent contractors.

This would immediately take care of several issues at once.

First, multi-millions of Americans would immediately become independent contractors, business owners--sole proprietors--with ZERO employees.

Second, sole proprietors with ZERO employees would not have to worry about government-mandated initiatives for those who work for someone else--such as healthcare.  You would only have to worry about your own healthcare as a business owner.

Third, the cumbersome laws regarding taxes, withholding, and Social Security payments would be gone with the wind--poof, just like that.

Fourth, as independent incorporated contractors, American workers would gain 2 key benefits--the government would regard them as meeting only the minimal tax liability as individuals while providing them with some breaks and benefits as limited liability corporations.

Do you see where this is going?

By implementing this one single aspect of the plan, you begin to starve the beast, or as Baugh puts it, 'starve the monkey.'  Dead-wood employees would be forced to produce or they don't get paid because, as small business owners who contract themselves out, they rise or fall according to the quality of their work.  And the money-grubbing thieves in the government would be deprived of billions of dollars in tax revenue.

Of course, some form of the 'flat tax' would render at least some of the above a moot point.  But under current conditions the flat tax is not within reach, at least not for now.

This is why I believe that the Baugh plan is worth a careful look.

The IRS carefully monitors independant contractors, but they couldn't possibly go after a mass effort like proposed.

In the meantime, all conservative minded employees across the country can legally increase their monthly exemptions through their employer so that ZERO taxes are withheld and sent quarterly to Washington. Then, in April of next year, file for an automatic extension to file.

Or, if enough citizens participate, imagine if say 20 million Americans just didn't file income taxes period instead of filing for extension. If millions participate the government cannot arrest and prosecute that many citizens for civil disobedience. The government would be forced to negotiate and "we the people" could demand an amnesty period. Or, what if we just submited legislation to disband the IRS. Personally I think the income tax is unconstitutional regardless of the 16th Amendment. You're NOT "free" if you have to give up a percentage of what you earn from your own labor. You're really just a 15, 25, 45% slave. The founding fathers never intended that the citizens would be directly taxed on ...

Brilliant idea concerning people becoming independent contractors. In fact, I'll ask my boss about that.

Also, Constitution-defending patriots need to do this. Voting patriots need to elect pro-state power lawmakers to both the federal, particularly the Senate, and state legislatures in 2010 who will then use their legislative votes to do the following. Legislators need to use their votes to help restore state sovereignty by fighting constitutionally unauthorized federal taxes and federal government interference in the lives of the voters.

Until enough Americans are willing to take steps such as these government will continue to overstep its Constitutional bounds. It is time for all freedom-loving citizens to use every legal means necessary to reign in our lawmakers and take back our nation. If we don't do it soon we will wake up one day in the not-too-distant future to find it is too late.
