Egged on by MSNBC's mouthpieces for the Obama administration, Chris Matthews and Rachel Maddow, Democrats took to the airwaves to denounce the citizen uprising against ObamaCare at various town hall meetings around the country.
Senator Barbara Boxer, D-California, Senator Dick Durban, D-Illinois, Representative Tim Bishop, D-New York, and Representative Lloyd Doggett, D-Texas all claimed that the outrage they saw exhibited at town hall meetings were 'manufactured,' staged by the Republican Party, stirred up by 'right wing extremists,' and more than likely paid for and promoted by the health insurance industry.
This should be a personal affront to every patriotic American who speaks out concerning the issues of the day. If you disagree vehemently with the Washington elite, you are automatically a kook who is to be written off and dismissed or you represent a special interest who has 'bought you off.'
Doggett told Matthews that he didn't even believe the views expressed by the citizens at his town hall meeting were actually the views of the people of his district. He also referred to the dissenting citizens of his district as 'a mob.'
Do you really wanna know what a 'mob' is, Mr. Doggett? Here is a video of your 'Dear Leader' telling supporters back in September to 'argue with them, get in their faces.'
And Boxer told Maddow that the protests were not the true feelings of the citizens, given the citizens 'obviously support President Obama's plan for healthcare reform.' She, like Doggett, implied that the protesters were planted at the meetings by 'special interest groups' who were intent on damaging the Obama administration and 'changing Congress.'
Excuse me, Ma'am Boxer, but we certainly do want to change Congress by getting rid of the likes of you and your cohorts. But you insult us and our intelligence by suggesting that we are paid for by special interests or that we are patsies for the Republican Party or the health insurance industry.
As for me, I have never been paid a dime by a special interest. I write these things because of my deep concern for my country and my agonizing grief over the systematic demise of its government by charlatans such as Barack Obama, who clearly wish to change America from a Constitutional Republic to a country governed by National Socialism or its derivatives.
And for the umpteen millionth time, I am NOT a member of the Republican Party. I am an Independent Conservative who votes my conscience.
We can be assured that those of us who oppose Barack Obama and the Democrats' multi-trillion-dollar government takeover of healthcare will continue to be the recipients of lies, innuendo, character assassination, and personal attack. We have Congress running scared, which is precisely where they need to be. They need a healthy fear of the electorate. But the price we pay for their fear is their lies about us.
But we will continue to attend town hall meetings and ask hard questions for our elected representatives. Try to shut us up or shut us out of the meetings, and you will truly see what a real mob is.
Citizens who live in the districts where the town hall meetings are being held are entitled to attend and let their voices be heard. If our elected representatives can't take the heat, then they should get out of the kitchen. Resign from Congress and go home where you belong. If you are not willing to listen to the views of your constituents and represent them and not some ideologically-drunken stooge in the White House, then you should not be in Congress to begin with.
And believe me, we are going to see to it that you won't have a chance to return to Washington in 2010.

I agree with you comments 100% Anthony, but I need to buy some Brooks Brothers slacks and shirt as the libs have reported what these mobs are wearing ... I usually wear FoL Tee and shirts, but I don't want to stand out.
They just did a repeat on NBC, and I have to say that they are full of crap. But they are beginning to make a major assault on anyone that disagrees with them, on all fronts.
They will stir up distractions in order to sneak by with the major portions of their agenda.
Of course, the person writing this nonsense is a fat, old, rich white guy. Whoda thunk it. Fat pant loads like you put idiot Bush in office for 8 years and helped destroy many of our democratic institutions. But hey, its all the 'libs' fault as Ron B would say (likely another fat pant load). Well Ron, here's a 'lib' that would kick your a** with little effort.
I need to log on to the administration's website and snitch on myself for being a rebel! Little ole me, who has never been an activist in her life, is now actively engaged against this thug and his cohorts.
Oh, and I think I'll report Dan just for the fun of it. He seems to be frothing at the mouth and sounds like a menace to society.
This "Audacity of Power" is insulting to say the least. How dare they? I too am just an ordinary citizen who wants reform, not government run health care. I'm paying COBRA now and not sure what lies ahead. But, I say to them to stop spinning that only the Democrats want reform. We want it done right, that's all. Try fixing medicare, social security and medicaid so they are not bankrupt and then come back and we'll talk. And, be sure to include that congress and senators are going to be part of this plan. Bush and Cheney are looking like choir boys compared to this administration. It's all to pass an agenda. This is another stimulus rush job. Do they need a million man march to understand that we can speak for ourselves. I'll buy my ticket to Washington tommorow if that gets the message through. Ma'am Boxer, are you now choosing whom you will and will not represent? Are all CA people in agreement with you? "Senator" we the people worked hard for our "title" too as your BOSS.
Dan, SHUT UP! You can't kick anybody's Arse! You are a libtard!
I sure would like Dan's IP Anthony, if you know what I mean. He sounds just like another one that has threatened several people with overt violence over the internet. Across state lines, and that Dan, is a Federal Felony...
Dan, I just happen to have my ass with me. Do you want my address?
I'm amazed. The same people who invented Astroturfing, who bussed in dissenting activists to events for the purpose of disruption, and who deemed dissent against the previous adminstration as patriotic, are now crying fowl over honest dissention, and heart-felt patriotism. People, wake UP.
You can't have it both ways! If it was patriotic for one group to speak out against the things they did not believe in under one administration, then it is equally patriotic for another group to speak out against this one.
The difference is, this uprising isn't manufactured! This is real people, and they ain't wearing Brook's Bro's suits.
I believe that the Republican party is paying poor people to "protest" single-payer health care. Why should we put it past them?
Hey Dan, I'd love the opportunity to allow you to attempt to kick my A#%. Send me your contact info at jimkilpAThotmailDOTcom and we'll make every effort to allow you to prove you're not a coward!
"...I write these things because of my deep concern for my country and my agonizing grief over the systematic demise of its government by charlatans such as Barack Obama, who clearly wish to change America from a Constitutional Republic to a country governed by National Socialism or its derivatives."
Interesting choice of words...National Socialism...this term is essentialy a synonym for Nazism. Why this choice of words? How come I see these accusatory statements and without out anything to back them up? This is a deliberate, calculated attempt to convert peoples very real feelings of anxiety over the economy and transform it into anger and rage for political gain.
I beleive this is very dangerous. The economy is bad. People are losing their jobs, their homes and their healthcare (if they could even afford it to begin with). It is very simple to bring the anger to the surface in instances like this. If this keeps up, I think violence is the logical conclusion.
I find irony in the fact when Democrat candidates run for office they pay people to protest Republican politicians during campaigns (known as 'blueberries' within political circles)and they get a stellar $20 to scream mainly when the media is around, then they leave. Then MSNBC comes out with this like Democrats never do it themselves. They must have missed the fact that around 50% dont support Obamas plan.
Is it just me, or did anyone else notice the absence of buses at these meetings?
You know what I mean, the buses that carrie all the Democrat protesters to every function of conservatives. Even using school buses, which must be against the law. But somehow no democrat or liberal said anything about that, or made the leap of logic to assume that those actions were evidence of 'astroturfing'.
But when individual citizens show up on their own dime to air their grievances to their elected officials who have betrayed them it is labeled as manufactured anger by a mob of agents of extreme conservatives.
So, let me ask our dim commenters here. Where are the damn buses?
This is going to get ugly! Do you really think people are going to continue to sit and let a mob yell and scream while their loved one is dying because they either don't have health insurance or the insurance company refuses to pay? Your playing with fire and it's getting hotter by the second. For some of you this is sport, for others, this is life and death.

Yeah, Yolanda, that is exactly what I think. But only if Obamacare becomes the law of the land. I think you will be a member of the mob screaming and yelling when some bureaucrat in Washington, D.C. decides your loved one is too expensive to wasted medical care on. Give up your stupidity and emotional response and go read what the people who will be in charge of it have written and said about who will and will not qualify for care.
Grow the Hell up!
"multi-trillion-dollar government takeover of healthcare will continue to be the recipients of lies, innuendo, character assassination, and personal attack."
Its a trillion over 10 years. You say multi trillion is a bold faced lie. Obama is not a socialist. And no I did not vote for him. I voted for Nader!

"screaming and yelling when some bureaucrat in Washington, D.C. decides your loved one is too expensive to wasted medical care on."
Again more lies by the conservatives. This is just not a true statement. You have been lied to about it. If you would Grow the hell up and actually do some research you would find these things out. Don't believe Glen Beck and Hannity. They make money by getting impressionable disinfranchised people like you all riled up.
Cody, when have government estimates of cost EVER been correct? If they perceive a cost, the average is 300% more, do the research. I am NOT attacking you, just stating that an IN POWER regime (DEM or REP) cannot be trusted. Good job on voting outside the party lines. While on opposing sides of the fence we are fighting the same fight!

In the words of those supernatural intellectuals, the Beatles, "Ya say you want a revolution, well you know, we all want to change the world".
It's my hope and prayer that the rumblings within our neighborhoods and around the water cooler will reverberate up and down the congressional halls and the oval office so loudly that those self promoting politicians we call the leaders of our government will run for the hills, never to be heard from again.
I'm very glad to see this writing by Mr. Martin being made public. Although it's editorial in nature, the points to stimulate independent thought are present.
No I do not trust Feinstein, Boxer, Obama or others with rapid thought non-tested health care decisions. I'm also disappointed in the Californians who don't understand how the world works and continue to vote for the likes of our existing representatives.
Example: Ira Ruskin of our local Bay Area district wanted to raise taxes - during a horrible recession - to help solve CA's budget problems. Yeah, raise taxes by establishing an oil severance tax - which would of course get passed on to the consumer. This is the type of moronic behavior from those who just don't get it.
Time to make yourself heard. Thanks Mr. Martin for stimulating writing.
