At gunpoint--reporter stopped from asking Climategate questions

While the United Nations attempts to force every citizen in every nation on earth to disarm, touting the exceeding wickedness of guns, apparently firearms are preferred by U.N. officials themselves--particularly when their spokespersons are placed in the most uncomfortable position of having to answer questions about Climategate.

Photo: A security member of the United Nation speaks to participants of the Climate Conference, at the Bella Center in Copenhagen, Denmark, Monday, Dec. 7, 2009. (AP Photo/Anja Niedringhaus).

The incident in question occurred on Friday in Copenhagen during a press briefing.  Professor Stephen Schneider of Stanford University, one of the U.N.'s mouthpieces on the 'dangers of global warming,' was answering questions from reporters about the Copenhagen conference.  Veteran journalist and film maker Phelim McAleer began to question Professor Schneider on the ramifications of the Climategate scandal.

After a brief exchange that turned testy when Professor Schneider refused to answer questions and interrupted several of McAleer's inquiries, this is what happened next:

However as the press conference drew to a close Professor Schneider’s assistant called armed UN security guards to the room. They held McAleer and aggressively ordered cameraman Ian Foster to stop filming. The guard threatened to take away the camera and expel the film crew from the conference if they did not obey his instructions to stop filming Professor Schneider.

The guard demanded to look at the film crews press credentials and refused to allow them to film until Professor Schneider left the room.
McAleer said he was disappointed by Professor Schneider’s behaviour.

Thus, not only is the U.N. and its co-conspirators in the scientific community stonewalling on the biggest scientific scandal in human history, but they are threatening at gunpoint anyone who dares question them on the issue.

The average citizens, according to the U.N., do not have the right to self-defense with firearms.  Yet the U.N. itself can badger, bully, and intimidate into silence, with guns, anyone who questions their sordid attempt to hoodwink the entire world into believing that the sky is falling based upon a complete hoax.

This unconscionable incident is far from over, however.  McAleer has registered an official complaint with the U.N., as if that will get him anywhere, but at least it will keep the incident in the news:

“It was a press conference. Climategate is a major story – it goes to the heart of the Global Warming debate by calling into question the scientific data and the integrity of many scientists involved.”

“These questions should be answered. The attempts by UN officials and Professor Schneider’s assistant to remove my microphone were hamfisted  but events took a more sinister turn when they called an armed UN security officer to silence a journalist.”

Two officers corralled the film crew and one officer can be seen on tape threatening the cameraman. The Guard can also be heard warning that if the crew did not stop filming their would seize the equipment and the journalists expelled from the conference.

McAleer says he has made an official complaint about the incident.

But let's get down to the nitty-gritty on this subject.  Multi-billions of dollars have already been spent by governments around the world in direct response to the buggered up numbers provided by underhanded, scheming scientists.  They have perpetrated a massive, global hoax of gargantuan proportions, creating panic and alarm when such a thing is clearly unnecessary.

This is tantamount to criminal activity.  And those who are responsible should be arrested and jailed.

And the display by Professor Schneider and the armed security guards of the U.N. should not in any way be tolerated.  As McAleer stated,

“This is a blatant attempt to stop journalists doing journalism and asking hard questions. It is not the job of armed UN security officers to stop legitimate journalists asking legitimate questions of senior members of the UN’s IPCC.”

Why is it that at every 'event' where our reps are supposed to be there seems to be tanks, armed guards, gates, fences, barbed wire, concrete walls, etc? Don't they represent the people? Hmmm. What should they fear? Are they so much more important than you and I that they deserve such fanaticism and absolute division from the peons they represent?

Oh... I see. Sept 2001, the FEAR factor (another "Don't listen to alternate theories, ours is right and the issue is settled" situation).

I find is sickening and a sheer waste of money to have them put on a pedestal that towers above us. I hope it will end and I hope this is the beginning of the world realizing how the game has been played against us for a long time. MSM is owned and they are just a propagandized talking head the spews rhetoric, disinformation, sensationalism and it is all entertainment.

Sorry, MSM... this is the nail in your coffin. Very treacherous acts have been exposed and the spin continues... "you see n

Let the UN try that HERE! The police (local and world) only have the powers you grant them. While ignoring them will not make them go away, we as individuals can remove their power.

I'd be interested to know where the "at gunpoint" crap came from.

I'm also interested in the Huffington Post's coverage:

'Dr. Schneider, an outspoken proponent of climate legislation, was announcing his latest book... when an unidentified man jumped on stage and began to intensely interrogate Schneider. The man became angry after Schneider addressed the leak email controversy from The University of East Anglia's world renowned Climate Research Unit. He repeatedly shouted, "do you approve of deleting data, Dr. Schneider? Do you approve of deleting data?" The man then accused the professor of attempting to censor the press.'

The Huffington Post is hardly a trustworthy source of news.

Plus, the video provided in the article to which I link shows no such attempt to 'storm the podium.'

Are you angry about this obvious fraud and the national media's complicity in the cover-up, misinformation, reframing and misdirection of the issue? Take responsibility and take action. STOP all donations to the political party(s) responsible for this fraud. STOP donations to all environmental groups which funded this Global Warming propaganda campaign with our money, especially The Environmental Defense Fund. They have violated the public trust. KEEP donations local, close to home. MAKE donations to Oklahoma’s Senator Inhofe, the only politician to stand firmly against this obvious government/media coordinated information operation (propaganda) targeted at its own people. People that government leaders and employees are sworn to protect. WRITE your state and federal representatives demanding wall to wall investigations of government sponsored funding and coordination of this and related propaganda campaigns and demand indictments of those responsible.

WRITE your state and federal Attorneys General demanding Al Gore and others conducting Global Warming/Climate Change racketeering and mail fraud operations be brought to justice, indicted, tried, convicted and jailed. That’s what I have done in response to this outrageous violation of the public trust. Think of the consequences if you do nothing! For one, the UK is becoming the poster child for George Orwell’s “1984” and the US government’s sponsorship of this worldwide Global Warming propaganda campaign puts it in a class with the failed Soviet Union’s relentless violation of the basic human right to truthful government generated information. Given ClimateGate’s burgeoning revelations of outrageous government misconduct and massive covert misinformation, what are the chances that this Administration’s National Health Care sales campaign is anywhere near to the truth?

It is outrageous that Schneider called in security so he wouldn't have to answer some tough questions. Anyone who ignores this fact must have their head deeply buried in the political sand. However, Anthony Martin, you should be ashamed of yourself. Nowhere in this story did I see actual guns pointed at anyone. The guards simply asked the reporter to leave, and threatened to expel them from the conference if they didn't cooperate. Your use of the term "at gunpoint" is shamefully false, and you're no better than Schneider, as far as I'm concerned. And anyone who ignores this fact must have their head equally buried in the political sand. It's pathetic and disgusting. Shame on both sides.

This video is heavily edited and presents a false version of events. I was present at the press conference. Mr. McAleer was able to ask questions for *many* minutes, hogging up most of the Q&A time with his diatribes. Prof. Schneider responded to each of his points, even as McAleer kept interrupting. THEN after quite a long time, Schneider moved on to the next questioner, who had been waiting to ask her question.

The editing of the video is misleading and just disgraceful. It leaves out McAleer's aggressive behavior and most of Prof. Schneider's response, where he exposes just how ridiculous McAleer is ... (convenient that this embarrassing exchange is left out, hm?) UN security only came AFTER the event, which seems to be a smart precaution after such aggressive and potentially threatening behavior on McAleer’s part. Schneider had no control over how they chose to deal with McAleer.

This is so biased, it's pretty clearly a piece of propaganda. Wake up please.
