While many companies are starting to go organic, vegan and all natural, it is time for us to start supporting their efforts. While this is just a short, simple list, check out these companies whose products keep you, the environment and communities beautiful:

Burt's Bee: Working on becoming the greenest personal care company on Earth, Burt's Bee aims to create and educate people on tryly natural products that have a positive effect on both you and the world for the good of your well-being, for the good of the environment and for The Great Good.

Pangea Organics: Products come in a biodegradable box, and all the ingredients are plant based. Also, a portion of profits are donated to the Pangea Institute to help teach people about sustainability.

Alaffia: Creates luxurious lotions that are sustainable and smell amazing! The company supports fair trade for African women by donating 10% of sales to community enhancements in West Africa.

Rare2B: OUR products are made of natural plant and botanical ingredients from certified organic sources.
They are 100% vegan (contain no animal by-products) and not tested on animals.  They are free from parabens, formaldehyde/formaldehyde donors, petroleum by-products, alcohol, PEG & TEA and GMO materials. All our products are made with natural preservatives.

Eco Bella: Animal testing is unacceptable to Ecco Bella due to its cruelty and unreliable results. Alternatives to animal testing are used such as cell membranes tests and computer modeling to determine safety. Most of the products are preservative free and suitable for vegans.

Origins by Dr. Andrew Weil: His remarkable integrative approach features highly effective proprietary blends of various organic items. I was mostly interested in the Weil Bee-ings Honey - supposedly great for using in tea and on pb&j. Also try a mixture of aloe vera and honey for a face mask using this honey.

Linden Leaves USA: "Combines the very best of local New Zealand and international ingredients to create a pure bodycare." I was most interested in their Gold Family - supposedly great for the skin.

Organix Hair: For those that aspire to make better choices and are more aware of the integrity of ingredients. Organix formulas contain organic active ingredients and are sulfate free and paraben free…and they smell great!

On a quest to find a good, organic, healthy lotion the other day, the product that I found with the fewest ingredients was Now Personal Care Sweet 100% Almond Oil. The oil is also food grade and can be used as a salad or culinary oil, but I use it as a cosmetic oil for softening and moisturizing. Pure Shea butter and pure aloe vera were two other moisturizers I was looking for in a 100% pure form, without any additional ingredients. If you have a great pure product to suggest, please do so!
