With the sanctuary cities bill passed in the Senate and on to the House, we need to think about those in our Texas State Legislature who would prefer to defend the rights of those here illegally over the citizens of Texas. Members of the Senate and of the House have both stood up for their rights by fighting against the sanctuary cities bill, SB 9, which calls for those arrested to have their citizenship status verified.
What is the problem with this for them? These aren't law abiding citizens. These are criminals already under arrest for other crimes which they have committed yet State Rep. Rafael Anchia (D-Dallas) is going so far as to defend them on the House floor, calling them his constituents and saying, “they hate drug dealers, hate narcos, hate terrorists as much as any of us in this room”. I guess he didn't say they hate killers and rapists as much as the others because he knows there are plenty of the illegals who have committed crimes such as that in Dallas as well as all across the rest of the state and the country.
People like Nick Salinas, Jr. who, after wrecking his car on I-35, then shot at those who stopped to help him, including Robert Langston,22, and Jesus Terrazas, Jr, 24, who were killed along with injuring Barry Smith and a police officer, Senior Cpl. Jerry Poston.
Then there was Juan Lizcana who shot and killed Officer Brian Jackson who responded to a domestic violence call in which Juan was threatening his ex-girlfriend with a gun. Killing Jackson was not his only encounter with the police as he had previously been arrested for threatening to kill his ex-girlfriend and also for drunk driving.
Jose Salvador Tinajero molested his wife's two daughters before being deported and Buena Valentin raped his girlfriend's 7 year old daughter in an attack on her and her sister.
These criminals are not a rarity. With only around 12 to 20 million illegals in this country as of 2005, comprising only 4-5% of the population, the population of illegals in prisons was 27% of the prison population. Representative Steve King of Iowa said that about 25 Americans are killed by illegals every day. That is 9,125 Americans per year who lose their lives due to the encroachment of illegals in this country which is more citizens than we have lost in Iraq and Afghanistan combined.
So, do you want your representatives in Austin defending their rights or would you rather they be there defending your rights and your life by working to get the illegal problem in Texas resolved so once again we can be safe from those who come here and only need cross the border again to be free from prosecution not only denying us of our loved one but also the ability to obtain justice against their killer?
The answer to that question needs to show in your vote November 2012 as you vote out those who feel your life and your daughter's, your sister's and your mother's safety isn't important enough to fight for.
