A Taste of Colorado, Downtown Denver's giant farewell to summer, starts Friday, September 3 and runs through Monday, Sept. 6. The free event draws over half a million people to Civic Center Park each year. Some say it's for the great music and food. Denver Confections finds it's one-stop shopping for the sweet tooth.
Downtown Denver Partnership's Sarah Neumann shares:
"From baklava to berrie kabobs, cupcakes to chocolate truffles, A Taste of Colorado is a haven for anyone with a sweet tooth. You’ll find scrumptious treats throughout the festival and in the Fine Dining area. If you come hungry, you’ll leave happy."
Many "Tasters" are drooling over the prospect of gourmet dining, giant turkey legs and corn on the cob, but let's not forget the sweet ending! To make your culinary journey easier be sure to check out the official food menus and map. In the mean time, Denver Confections suggests these nuggets to get your taste buds going.
Culinary geniuses from Assignments Restaurant will offer chocolate truffles to complete a meal.
Tocabe, an American Indian restaurant, will be serving up powdered sugar cinnamon frybread. Recently profiled in 5280, Tocabe sounds like it is going to be around for a while! Bt the frybread may not, get in line early or miss out!
It's not a festival without cupcakes, well, it's not life without cupcakes. Gigi's Cupcakes, will be serving Kiddie Kake, Wedding Cake, White Midnight Magic and Miss Princess cupcakes! Phew! That's a lot of cupcake.
What else? How about Lora's Donuts? Revelers can pick up a donut four-pack, or yummy apple fritters. Like some fruit with your sugar? Saltwater Cowboy's peach cobbler with cranberries should fit the bill.
That's a lot sweet, but if you pace yourself, you can do it! Just stay off the Tilt-A-Whirl for a few hours...
Tasters can burn off some of those calories by biking to A Taste of Colorado. BikeDenver will staff a bike corral on the plaza between the Denver Public Library and Denver Art Museum. Prevents car-parking stress too!

I am especially excited about the fine dining area. It's always fun to sample foods I can't normal afford on a regular basis. I have also been doing a profile on A Taste of Colorado on my blog. I have interviewed several of the restaurants and today I am going to be at A Taste of Colorado interviewing a student helping to run Assignments. It's a ton of fun. You can check it out if you want at http://blog.foodservicewarehouse.com/Wine-and-Dine/category/the-taste-of...
Thanks for sharing!
