With a new album out and the new face of the eco friendly clothing line ECO’Neill, reggae artist Mishka will be embarking on a tour through the country starting on May 28, 2010, and playing at the Bluebird Theater in Denver on June, 8, 2010. He was kind enough to sit down and answer some questions about his upcoming endeavors and reggae music.
Who are your musical influences?
Everything from '60s folk rock to '70s roots reggae, right up to contemporary sounds, I don't limit what I listen to, I'm under the influence of sound.
Where do you think reggae is going?
Into the hearts of people, plants and animals everywhere; into consciousness forever.
What do you want to accomplish with Talk About?
Reach everyone.
What influenced you to create a different sound on Talk About?
I was more inspired than influenced, just a feeling of the time and the people around, it's what felt required of the music.
How do you think ECO'Neill will influence this generation and the next?
ECO'Neill will hopefully be part of a whole movement of people thinking differently about how they use the resources available to them, and be kinder to the planet and each other. Its not a total solution, it's just a step on the way, but every journey starts with a step.
What do you think Colorado can learn from the reggae following?
To move through life at a natural pace.
Make sure to go catch Mishka when he plays at the Bluebird Theater and pick up his new ablum Talk About. Check out the Talk About album review here.
