Atlanta-based rock band The Villians will release their debut album in February of 2010. The project aims to tell real-life stories through a collection of eight songs.
Throughout the effort, The Villains weave a seamless backdrop of rock, pop and country that is meaningful and moving, yet energetic and fun.
The songs are somewhat introspective as they reflect on the band members’ own experiences. One example is the song, “Let’s Forget About It Tonight.” Another song, “Going Deaf For A Living,” talks about life on the road.
The band’s members (Magno, Dan Call, Sean McNally, Michael Wilkes, Jimmy James Schmitt, and Alan Schaefer) have a rich history of writing, recording, and touring. They have recorded and performed with many mainstream and indie artists from Nashville to New York, as well as touring the world together and individually.
And what started as a recording project for Magno, Dan, Sean, and Mike after three years on the road with Nashville recording artist Keni Thomas (opening for the likes of Dwight Yoakum, Montgomery Gentry, and Trace Atkins) quickly turned into a debut album.
In addition, three of the songs on The Villains’ debut were written with guitarist Peter Stroud (Sheryl Crow, Don Henley) and also feature Stroud on guitar. For more information, please visit http://www.thevillainsband.com.
