Just in time for Christmas, the Black Crowes wrapped up their “Stuck Inside Utopia Tour” at The Fillmore in San Francisco Sunday evening. Though they have more former members than Madonna’s entire dating history, the current crew, consisting of Chris Robinson, Rich Robinson, Steve Gorman, Adam MacDougall, Sven Pipien and Luther Dickinson, delivered numerous nights of unswerving rock and roll to dedicated fans. The only inconsistent element of the “Stuck Inside Utopia Tour” was the varying staging conditions from venue to venue. Where large arena touring acts often arrive equipped with their own elaborate stage and lighting set, the Black Crowes left the lighting up to each venue, allowing the band more time to concentrate on music and visit more places.
Because of varying staging conditions, photographic coverage of this tour has also varied. The photo of Chris Robinson above was taken stage front in low lighting with no flash. Slightly resembling the main man of Christianity, it’s no wonder he’s been dubbed before “Christ Robinson”. After all, he does Talk to Angels.
