In the wake of Apple's iPad announcement, French electronics company ExoPC has revealed its new tablet device. The ExoPC Slate looks similar to the iPad but will function more like a netbook.
ExoPC announces iPad look-a-like tablet
While it shares some aesthetics with the Apple iPad, the ExoPC Slate is a completely different machine. For starters, the 8.9-inch multi-touch ExoPC tablet is powered by a 1.6 GHz Intel Atom N270 processor and runs the Windows 7 Pro operating system. This means the ExoPC Slate will support Flash websites - unlike the Apple iPad.
The ExoPC Slate also comes equipped with 2GB of memory, a 32 GB solid state drive and full Wi-Fi connectivity. ExoPC has opted to include a built-in 1.3 megapixel web cam - a feature that was notably absent from the iPad .
ExoPC lists just 4 hours of battery life for a fully charged tablet but states that the battery is replaceable. Set for release in March, the ExoPC Slate will retail for $599 USD.

Nice, I'd take this over the iPad any day.
