The holiday season is in full swing! After the craziness and business of December and the buildup to Christmas is a time when many of the holiday festivities are still available to enjoy at a more relaxed pace. The Chicago area still offers holiday light shows and through the New Year's weekend. So if you are looking for something special to do with the family, with a date or just to enjoy on your own; consider holiday event in Chicago. Some of the holiday light shows in Chicagoland include Winter WonderFest at Navy Pier, ZooLights at Lincoln Park Zoo, Winter Wonderland at Cuneo Museum in Vernon Hills and Holiday Magic at Brookfield Zoo.

Navy Pier is colorfully lit up for the holidays with Bank of America's Winter Wonderfest at Navy Pier,  which runs through January, 3 2010. If you are looking for something extra special for New Year's Eve, consider the party atmosphere and fireworks with New Year's Eve at  Navy Pier.

Chicago Botanic Garden in Glencoe if featuring Wonderland Express through January 3, 2010. Wonderland Express is a large scale garden train with replicas of Chicago landmarks. 

Winter Wonderland at Cuneo Museum in Vernon Hills, is a a drive through festival of lights that runs through January 2, 2010. The Winter Wonderland is a light show that you can drive through in the car, so the family can enjoy the lights without having to traipse around outside.
 

ZooLights at Licoln Park Zoo transforms the zoo into a winter wonderland of over 1.5 million shimmering lights. ZooLights runs through January 3, 2010.

Brookfield Zoo is offering the 28th Annual Holiday Magic at Brookfield Zoo Festival through December 31, 2009, so the feively holiday light show runs through New Year's Eve.
