If you remember The American President, Basic Instinct, and The War of Roses then you definitely know who Michael Douglas is and what he's about. Sadly it was reported that the Oscar Winning Actor 65, was diagnose and is undergoing an eight week chemotherapy treatment for throat cancer.
According to the actor’s physician, he is expected to make a full recovery. As one may know, undergoing chemotherapy sometimes mean loss of hair, loss of appetite, or both. The actor’s doctor did mention Douglas may lose weight dealing with the type of cancer he has.
Throat cancer could play a large role in weight loss since the throat is a major function for food intake. According to the actor he has faith that he will pull through.
Throat cancer refers to cancerous tumors that develop in your throat (pharynx), voice box (larynx), or tonsils. Throat cancer can also affect the piece of cartilage (epiglottis) that acts as a wind for your windpipe.

Signs and symptoms of throat cancer:
• A sore throat that does not go away
• Cough
• Pain or difficulty swallowing
• Weight loss of no reason
• Ear Pain
• A lump in the back of mouth, throat or neck
• Advance tumors may invade the voice box, causing hoarseness or breathing difficulty
• Bleeding from the throat or blood-tinged sputum
