Orlando Fla. – Department stores, malls, boutiques, shoe stores, and even convenient stores all have one problem in common: “Retail theft.” In the past, retail stores sought out certain groups to monitor, but now-a-days with inventory being at its worst, some retail stores are forced to watch and be on the lookout for each and every individual coming into the store.
It’s one thing to look up to the elderly for advice and leadership, but what if you catch leadership stealing in broad day light?
According to the manager of Marshalls on East Colonial Drive who asked not to be identified, said “we catch little old ladies in here stealing all of the time and switching price tags. It’s one thing to catch them but it’s another to chase after them not knowing if their fragile hearts will give out or not.”
The Marshalls management team alleged that a senior citizen had come inside the store and left with several items of the stores merchandise only to get inside of her Bentley automobile that is roughly around $200,000 leaving as if nothing had ever happened.
The Marshall’s workers stood in awe, but not one time did either one of them approach the woman to advise her that she’s committed a crime.
So the question remains. Do little old ladies actually steal, or do they simply forget to pay for the merchandise?
