Five nights of free movies in downtown Bethesda July 27-31, 2010

In a down economy many are looking for activities that will not burn a hole in their wallet.  If you do not mind watching movies outside, then Bethesda might have a five day solution for you.  July 27-31, 2010 you are encouraged to come out and enjoy five consecutive nights of movies for free - at the 4th annual Bethesda Outdoor Movies: Stars on the Avenue. No tickets required. Movie-goers are encouraged to arrive early and bring lawn chairs. A limited number of chairs will be provided. Show times begin at 9:00 p.m. at Bethesda’s Woodmont Triangle located on the corner of Norfolk and Auburn Avenues, Bethesda, Maryland.

Tuesday, July 27 - When Harry Met SallyHarry (Billy Crystal) and Sally (Meg Ryan) are on-again off-again friends for fourteen years until they finally realize just how much they love each other in this romantic comedy. The pair tries to figure out how their friendship can survive in spite of Harry’s staunch belief that people of the opposite sex simply can’t be just friends.

Friday, July 30 - The Blind SideThis film is the remarkable true story of Michael Oher, a homeless boy from a broken home. Michael was taken in by a wealthy family who helped him fulfill his potential as a person and as an athlete. He worked hard on the field and in the classroom and became an All-American in college and was picked in the first round of the 2009 NFL Draft, changing his life and the lives of the loving family who helped him succeed.

Saturday, July 31 - ChicagoRoxie Hart and Velma Kelly – two women with looks that could kill… and so they did. Roxie Hart (Renee Zellwegger) is a street-smart chorus girl who kills her lover. She ends up in prison with fellow convict Velma Kelly (Catherine Zeta-Jones) who doesn’t want her spotlight stolen. Both are desperate to be center stage in the public eye and to attain the attention of super-lawyer Billy Flynn (Richard Gere) in this Oscar–winnings musical.
