Grace and Holy Trinity: A Church of Music
There are many churches and places of worship lining the streets of Richmond, but one in particular has been drawing a lot of attention recently. Grace and Holy Trinity Episcopal Church (located right off of N. Laurel Street) provides an array of performances and Sunday services for the masses. However, typical Sunday sermons are not the only gatherings being hosted.
Over the years, GAHT has given Richmond a plethora of stunning performances (both religious and non) including their “In Love With Music” and “Celebration of Unity” concerts. Amongst these choral highlights, one shines through more vividly than any other.
Voice of a Child
Coming May 16, 2010, Grace and Holy Trinity will be sponsoring their “Mass of Children” (John Rutter) for the Richmond Community. This gathering will entail the classical composition of John Rutter, performed by the GAHT mass choir and the Greater Richmond Children’s Choir. The name of the performance may evoke a more youthful turnout, but GAHT would urge otherwise. Beth Melcher Davis (church choir director) stresses that, “This is an event for all ages,” and that all will find entertainment in this ritual of song. The mass will be accompanied by a full choir and will start at 11:00 A.M.
Admission to the program is free, and all members of the community are invited to share in the love of music.
