For at least the last six months and probably longer, this mother has made her home under the porch of a client's home. Daily she and a friend or two would come up to the porch where we would leave food and water.
Recently we noticed that she was very pregnant, and a few weeks ago she gave birth. Initially we didn't see or hear the kittens, but a couple of weeks ago the mother cat started to hiss at us when we entered the walkway leading to the porch.
Last week the reason became evident - her kittens were now old enough to come out on their own, play in the front yard and mount the steps to the porch to get some solid food on their own. Fortunately Mom and her kittens are comfortable enough around me to go about their business, and they let me take this picture along with the ones in the slide show below.

That is one tired momma. The slideshow is gorgeous. Pretty kittens and mommy.
Carolyn, those are great photos. Interesting how each of the kittens has such different markings.
Thanks for the kind words. I think most of the kittens favor the mom - being that they are gray tabbies. The black and white one likely favors the dad.
