Read Planetary or Warren Ellis will murder your face.
Warren Ellis gave fanboys a little literary cocaine today, when he used his twitter account to debut a few pages from the eagerly anticipated finale to Planetary.
The preview is available for view on the Wildstorm blog.
Planetary #27 marks the final chapter in the epic collaboration between Ellis and artist John Cassaday. Planetary is one of several comics deconstruction stories Ellis has penned, and is by far one of the most brilliant ever written. It follows Elijah Snow of the Planetary Foundation as he and his team seek to uncover the secret history of the world. Rather than featuring a true tale of superheroes, the Planetary crew is a team of super-powered archaeologists.
The series has been plagued by delays since it's debut in 1999, as both creators fulfilled other obligations, including Cassaday's acclaimed run with Joss Whedon on Astonishing X-Men. When Issue 27 drops in October, it will have been over a decade since the series first began.
Trades of Planetary can usually be found at your local comic shop. Currently only the first three volumes are available, as well as a DC Absolute Edition. However, DC should rectify that once the final issue has shipped.
