Incarnate Issue 1: A Demon's Wish For Death

Incarnate by definition (adj.) means invested with bodily and especially human nature and form according to Webster's online dictionary.

The Los Angeles publisher Radical comic by Nick Simmons dives into the after-death, unholy affairs of a scrawny demon with perpetual hunger and fearless demeanor named Mot.

We're brought into issue 1 with him tearing through ligaments and arteries, feeding off an unsuspecting soul in a back alley. From the first page, without reading an incho of what the comic was about before the purchase, I imagined a vampire story and thought to myself, "not another Twilight." Thank gawd I was way off on that one.

The darkness that surrounds Mot is mysteriously sinister. In flashes throughout the comic we see his face turn from normal to black with red eyes. He refers to humans as cattle and is terrified of no one.

Within a page-turn, we're immediately introduced to his not-so-bright, yet violent associate Connor. In issue 1 we meet the forgotten Gods, a pack of similar demons who walk (and fly) amongst humans feeding on their souls.  The meeting is to acknowledge their ultimate enemy, a group called Sanctum, who have been hunting demons for hundreds of years and apparently hold the secret to kill them.

Within seconds, Sanctum breaks in revealing the demon hideout. Violence ensues...and by violence, I mean blazing bullets detatching body parts, Mot's claws ripping through flesh, and hundreds of rounds breaking of the sides of faces. Within this manga-styled comic, it's an absolute bloodthirsty assault.

After the smoke clears we find Mot, cocky and thirsty for more vs. Vincent who led the army's charge. We also discover a hint to this secret Sanctum utilizes to kill demons as he takes a piece of Mot with his sickle. Just as the pain inches into his bloodstream and the appearance of a not-so-deadly woman makes herself visible, we learn an interesting trait. Mot wishes for death. It's as if he's been walking the Earth for an eternity and is seeking his way out.

Who is this woman? One of the few cliff hangers for issue 2 to continue. Nick's first issue is a must-read-twice comic if you're a lover of cryptic characters, violence similar to the Kick Ass series that makes you cringe, with a slight twist of humor.

THIS IS BULLSHIT! Nick Simmon's comics are an obvious rip-off of bleach and hellsing! He also stole imagery from a skinwalkers poster and from several artists on the Deviantart forum. Myself included! I demand to know how you can write this tripe!
