Connecticut based, Comicbook Artists Guild releases Iconic.

The Comicbook Artists Guild, whose publication office is in Moodus, Connecticut, has officially released its latest title.

Iconic, a trade paperback (read: graphic novel), is a compilation featuring writing and artwork by many Guild members, including Guild Founder Keith J. Murphey .

The way the book is presented is with a grandfather reading to his grandchildren, telling them tales of iconic historical and fantastical people such as Mark Twain and Sherlock Holmes.

The first story centers around Gustave Whitehead, an aviation pioneer whom may have been the first to fly and aircraft, some 2 months before the Wright Brothers.  The story takes place in Bridgeport, Connecticut and tells about a young boy, his dreams to fly, to reach the birds.  Ultimately he achieves his goal and potentially flew before the famed Wright Brothers with his "old 21".

In 1964, Connecticut State Legislature posthumously honored Whitehead, officially deeming him "the father of Connecticut aviation."

For more info: "Iconic" is on shelves now, available for $9.99.
