Two years ago Tom O’Keefe decided Twitter wasn’t for him and in his own words he “didn’t get it.” One year later, with the economy crashing, he came up with a concept that he believed could work. Now, 7,473 tweets and 11, 736 followers later that concept, BostonTweet, has become a juggernaut for all things fun in Boston.
Focusing on bars, eateries and entertainment, BostonTweet started as a way to make sure people were still going out and grew into a community of Boston insiders who are more then happy to share the knowledge.
Tom is not only about gathering information but also living it. Every night you can follow his adventures complete with photos and videos. He invites everyone to come out and join him and, on occasion asks for recommendations.
I sat down with Tom today at Starbucks in Coolidge Corner today (December 9) to talk about the origins of BostonTweet, the new website, creating a brand and his run in with Bob Saget.
