Pat Steer is a writer, dog trainer, and a really good cook who worked for 24 years in pharmaceutical drug safety evaluation. She became a Stage IV rectal cancer survivor in 2004. In between six chemo regimens and three surgeries, she's been in remission twice – once for 21 months, once for 34 months.
