Keegan Mueller, former University of North Carolina wrestler, has joined the The Citadel wrestling program's coaching staff as a graduate assistant.
"We are very pleased to welcome Keegan to our staff," said Bulldog head wrestling coach Rob Hjerling. "He is going to be working with our middle and heavy weight guys. He will also be a big boost for recruiting. At North Carolina, he had a very good career and brings a lot of great experience as he comes into pursue his master's degree here at The Citadel."
Mueller was a two-time all-conference selection at North Carolina, where graduated in 2009. He won the ACC (Atlantic Coast Conference) title in 2009 and served as the team captain for the Tar Heels in both his junior and senior seasons. In addition, he received the 2007-2008 Athletic Director's Scholar-Athlete Award at UNC.
Prior to UNC, Mueller wrestled at Ohio State during the 2004-2005 season. Born in Little Rock, Arkansas but raised in Dallas, Mueller was a two-time Texas state champion at Highland Park High School.
Keegan is currently pursuing a degree in Business Administration in The Citadel Graduate College.
