Two different amateur wrestling websites have written profiles of two Big 12 wrestlers, Jordan Burroughs of the University of Nebraska, and Max Askren of the University of Missouri. Both are seniors, and both are ranked No. 1 in their respective weight classes by InterMat -- Burroughs at 157 pounds, Askren at 184.

TheMat.com on the Huskers' Burroughs.  Here's how long-time wrestling journalist Craig Sesker of USA Wrestling opens his profile of 2009 NCAA Division I champ Jordan Burroughs for TheMat.com:

Listen to Jordan Burroughs during a post-match interview and this is what you will see.

A polite, soft-spoken young man who says he is nervous when dealing with the news media and admits his interviews are boring.

Step inside the Nebraska wrestling room and you will see an entirely different personality.

Burroughs often is the life of the party, joking around, talking smack, and seemingly always having a comment for his Husker teammates and coaches.

Sesker's profile has plenty of quotes from Burroughs, including his thoughts on going for a second NCAA title... freestyle competition... and what his favorite sport really is.

TheOpenMat.com's "7 Minutes with Max Askren."  Max Askren may be the younger brother of two-time NCAA champ, 2008 Olympian and emerging MMA star Ben Askren... but he's made a name for himself on the wrestling mats for the Missouri Tigers. Here's how TheOpenMat.com (TOM) opens its latest "7 Minutes" feature with the wrestler some call "Maskren":

Missouri’s Max Askren has moved down a weight and so far it has been a success. Coming off a 5th Place finish at last years NCAA Tournament and his second straight All-American honor, Askren looks to reach the top of the podium this spring. Max took the time to contribute to TOM’s on going 7-minutes feature.

Among the questions TOM asks:  Most memorable match... describe your first match... and who from history would you want to wrestle. (Askren's choice is one of the all-time greats of US collegiate and Olympic wrestling.)
