Second-ranked Iowa State made history Sunday afternoon in defeating Arizona State, 30-10, at Wells Fargo Arena in Tempe, Arizona.
The Cyclones became the first college wrestling program to earn its 1,000th dual-meet victory. The Iowa State wrestling program began in 1916.
Iowa State won seven of nine matches wrestled (Arizona State forfeited at 197 pounds), including a major decision at 133 pounds, a technical fall at 165, and a pin by Andrew Sorenson at 157. Arizona State got bonus points with Chris Drouin's major decision at 141 pounds.
