Five great places to find last-minute scholarships

With fall semester fast approaching, financial aid packages have mostly already been decided on by colleges for incoming students. But that’s no reason to stop looking for college funding. While institutional scholarships might be past deadlines, there are others that are not. Some scholarship databases allow you to search for scholarships with open deadlines, so you can apply for them now.

With college costs rising, it’s never a bad idea either to bookmark these scholarship search engines and return to them from time to time to check for new scholarship sources. Remember to write down deadlines as you search through them. Bookmark scholarships that interest you or that you want to later revisit.

College Board Scholarship Search
You can view your SAT score here, as well as print a copy of your SAT essay. This search engine allows searching by location, cost, size, type of college and more.

FinAid!
This is more than just a scholarship search engine. There are also cost estimators, information about loans and college savings, and tutorials to help you fill out forms. There is also information about locating college loans.

Fast Web
This is a comprehensive scholarship search site online. Not only can you search for scholarships, but if your fill out your profile, Fast Web will send you email alerts about new scholarships and deadlines. View scholarships in a list format, and you can delete the ones that don’t apply to you.

CollegeNet Scholarship Search
You can search for scholarships by either keyword or profile. There are also forums on the site, which sometimes contain useful threads.

SuperCollege
Super College has a scholarship search engine as well as a college search engine (for those of you who still haven’t decided). There is also a large list of articles that can help you with your quest to fund your college education.
