Chocolate Perks brings high quality fare to Historic Downtown Duluth

Downtown Duluth has in the past few years really flourished with businesses opening their doors to the public. Chocolate Perks, a jem of a coffeehouse located on Main Street in Historic Downtown Duluth, prides itself on serving gourmet coffees and great foods using only all-natural ingredients. It’s the newest addition to the Historic Downtown Duluth locally-owned shops.

Chocolate Perks was started in 2008 when Marsha Anderson Bomar started making plans to bring a superior place in her hometown where people could gather in a comforting, loving atmosphere and enjoy high quality coffee and foods. She was able to create a unique little nook where the atmosphere is calm and relaxed and the staff is courteous and welcoming. Chocolate Perks is a perfect setting for a quiet rendez-vous with close friends or for a cup of coffee on a rainy Sunday morning. With the coffee drinks and the selection of wine and beer, customers would be hard pressed not to find something to suit their tastes.

The menu features an eclectic mix of hot and cold beverages including blended coffee drinks, canned soda, bottled water and a variety of mixed coffee drinks. The café even features it’s own take on margaritas appropriately called “Perkaritas” which come in strawberry or regular. There are also plenty of great foods to try when at Chocolate Perks including hand-made desserts and chocolates, salads and sandwiches including original creations such as the Main Street Cuban Sandwich and the Towne Green Salad which come with a side of either soup or chips.

Aside from the great variety of beverages and food, the Duluth coffeehouse also features beer and wine tastings. Patrons can try such great beers as Rogue Chocolate Stout or even Sweetwater Happy Endings which is made in Atlanta. There is also live music every Friday and monthly art exhibits which helps to promote artwork and music of local artists.
