Bob Marley's son launches new coffee company

Get up, stand up if you like reggae. Okay, actually you can remain in your chair. But do check out Marley Coffee, which has, hands down, the best soundtrack ever for a coffee website.

You’ve probably heard of Bob Marley (1945-1981). If not, I’m sure you’ve heard his songs. His reggae hits include “I Shot the Sheriff”, “Buffalo Soldier”, “Stir It Up”, “No Woman, No Cry”, and “Jamming”. With 23 albums, the man was obviously busy with his music and didn’t have time to return to the Jamaican family farm like he had always wanted to. Which is why his son, Rohan (Don’t mess with him.), started up Marley Coffee with his friend Shane Whittle.

Rohan remembers his granny and how she dried their coffee berries in the sun and hulled and roasted them herself for her morning brew. She sounds to me like the Jamaican Martha Stewart. Rohan wanted to make that memory a reality so everyone could experience the “same intoxicating aroma and rich, smooth flavor” that he loved so much.

Here’s a line-up of their certified organic, sustainably-grown coffees. They all run about $15 per pound, not including shipping and handling. Their new LA distribution center should expedite delivery, too.
