Madonna and the crack baby

Madonna, always the tredsetter

From the New York Post- "Between partying with her backup dancers and jamming to her own hits, Madonna and her non-A-list guests drank "Crack Baby" shots during her surprise 50th birthday hosted by husband Guy Ritchie at London's Volstead club. The signature shot from elite South Kensington club Boujis, a Crack Baby is made with vodka and champagne."

I like vodka and champagne, so I'm intrigued. As usual, Madonna might be on to something. I did a little digging and found a recipe for a “Crack Baby”. The original recipe calls for putting all ingredients in a blender, now I know better than to put a carbonated drink like champagne in a blender and everything listed will not fit into a standard 40 oz blender, so I've modified it slightly for you to be able to make it at home.

Crack Baby

  • Ice
  • 1/2 carton Passion Fruit Juice (about 32 oz)
  • 375 ml of vodka (375 is half of a standard 750ml bottle)
  • chopped strawberries
  • 1 bottle champagne

Put first 4 ingredients together in an electric blender, blend well. In a cocktail glass, pour half mixture from blender and half champagne Lightly stir.

Cheers!

Sounds yummy! I have been looking for something like this for an informal BBQ we are having for our friends that just got married in Hawaii and I think this will be a great change from plain champagne.

Just be careful, it is a potent cocktail.

Had these at Boujis - they really are yummy and when I made them at home they tasted exactly like the real ones!
