Spirits that once fit the bill during summer within tall, iced cocktails now play up their multifaceted capability in seasonal drink recipes. Fall brings in aromas such as pies baking in the oven and hot chocolate steaming in a large mug. Tea kettles whistle in the background as we begin staying indoors more with the cooling temperatures. All of these winter warmers become spirited seasonal cocktail drinks when appropriate liquors are added to the mix.
Cider is an excellent example of innocent winter warmer that becomes spirited seasonal cocktail when whiskey or vanilla liqueur is added. Vodka with a hint of spice tone becomes instantly autumn toned when sage and grapefruit become part of the flavor mix. Tequila already contains richness, but there is no denying that the addition of pumpkin liqueur says holiday season. These are only a few examples of how spirits take on new flavor personality according to the seasons.
