Buffalo Trace Bourbon: tracing the heritage
Bourbon Heritage Month presses forward with Buffalo Trace Bourbon, the brand that stampedes to its own thunderous beat while some still sip neat, on the rocks or mix in classic Old Fashioned manner. The name Buffalo Trace sheds light on the fact that the brand and the people behind it carve the path (trace) as they listen intuitively to what consumers demand as it plays in line with the heritage of the brand. Settlers of the late 1700s followed the Great Buffalo Trace to the Kentucky River. This vast trace would be the gateway to a new frontier and a pivotal moment in bourbon history. The land’s natural resources of limestone spring water and grain became the ideal foundation for Kentucky Bourbon. The first modern distillery was built upon that very site and along with it came many more firsts. The Buffalo Trace Distillery is among only four distilleries in the country that kept operating legally during prohibition with a permit for medicinal distillation purposes. Explore Buffalo Trace Bourbon’s fascinating heritage by visiting the website. Learn about the distillery firsts, the people behind the name and the bourbon that makes it so memorable.
