The number of great little pubs with TV's in Toronto is too high to list them all. But here are a select few that are pretty reliable if you're looking for a fun spot to watch the game with other fans.
The Bottom Line
22 Front St. W.
Self proclaimed “classiest sports bar in Toronto”, The Bottom Line offers sports, steaks, and a mix of international beers. A dream combo, right? You know the special attention to sports on the bar’s big screen TV is authentic, the place is owned by a former NHL hockey player! It’s also right next to The Hockey Hall of Fame and Air Canada Centre, making it popular for both pre and post-game partying, and even game time partying for those who don’t have tickets. Keep in mind it’s the “classy” sports bar, so come ready for steaks, and full gourmet pizzas instead of your typical sports pub communal nachos.
Gretzky's
99 Blue Jays Way
Greztky's is most definitely one of the greatest hockey bars in Toronto. Go on game night and plant yourself in one of the comfy booths and check out the Gretzky memorabilia during commercials. Or perhaps you’re watching a Leafs game and things are getting a little bit painful, take a break with a soothing cocktail on the rooftop patio. Rooftop patios make everything all right.
Hoops
458 Yonge St.
With a name like Hoops, you’d think it would be a NBA bar, but with a location like Toronto, it has become a NHL bar. It’s right around the corner from Maple Leaf Gardens and fills up on game nights with pre and post partiers and non-ticket holding fans. Equipped with 5 satellite dishes and a lot of TV’s, Hoops can pick up sports to air even after hockey season is over. But let’s not think about that. One of the coolest Hoops features are the personal TV’s and various NHL paraphernalia inside the booths.
The Loose Moose
146 Front St. W.
If there’s such thing as a “relaxed party crowd”, they’re at The Loose Moose. It holds 800 and is close enough to The Rogers Centre to lure in the sports fanatics on their way to the game. They aren’t exactly renown for an amazing menu, but if you’re just after some drinks and big screen game watching with some nachos or fries, it’s a really fun environment to be in.
Gabby’s
Everywhere.
With tons of locations around Toronto, there is most likely a Gabby’s near you. During the day it’s pretty family friendly, but when the sun sets on hockey night in Canada, some locations get rowdy. The Beaches location is very catered to Leafs fans, though it will fill up for pretty much any NHL game - which can lead to controversy, given the die-hard loyalty of hockey fans. The food is pretty standard pub food, good nachos and quesadillas. It’s pretty much a standard and relaxed place, in the best way possible. Drinks, food, patio, TV.
