Say "see you later" to the Fox & Fiddle! (But not goodbye).

The Fox and the Fiddle currently sits on the corner of John and Adelaide as part of a heritage building. It's got cheap wings on Mondays, an awesome live band on Thursdays, nice bartenders that remember your regular, an upstairs patio overlooking Hooters, big screenTV’s for game nights, and an all around comfortable and charming feel. Unfortunately, it's taking a walk, and you can’t fight City Hall.

Plans for the pub are to rip it out by the roots, toss it down the street, and fill the empty hole with a 42-story tower condo called Pinnacle. But what will all the loyal pub patrons fill the empty holes in their hearts with? Pinnacle is aiming for a completion date of 2012, also the suspected year the world will end, coincidence?

Development is all well and good until they tamper with your favourite watering hole. With its mid 19th century brick, The Fox and Fiddle is one of the more handsome pubs downtown, not to mention it’s part of a fairly important historical building. Information is scarce, and no one has stated for sure how long it will take or re-open, or where it will be.

Things could be much worse... The plus side is that the heritage building that houses the Fox and Fiddle isn’t going to be demolished, and they’ll probably need to have a housewarming (barwarming?) party once they re-open…
