PDT is a concept brought down from New York City and is gradually making headway in Washington, DC. PDT (Please Don’t Tell) is more of a series of events rather than an actual location, even though several of their events just happen to be above Cafe Citron on Connecticut Avenue.
Every event requires a password, not a cover charge, but a simple password. In fact, if you entered Café Citron www.cafecitrondc.com last night and did not tell the doorman the secret word, you would be listening to Latin tunes downstairs all night, instead of being shown the hidden door which guides you upstairs to a very well outfitted loft.
PDT’s events are different every night, and often in different locations. Tonight, for example, will be held at the Eye Bar. The vibe at this place last night was so unlike the two floors below where Latin notes were swirling around the room. From the Itallian style mini courtyard, to the purple ceiling lights, to the floor fog machine, this place was party central last night.
The menu included five kinds of tequilas, bottles of gins, rums, vodkas, champagne - including Moet Chandon, and nice selection of red and white wine.
As Matt Herbet works the floor, (a guy who can definitely sell you sand even if you lived in the desert using his charm and looks), the crowd is forming, high heels are taping, and hips swinging. By 11:30 on Wednesday night, the place is almost full. The crowd is a fairly mixed aged group, but for the men reading this article, if you are looking
for nice looking, well dressed women, this place is packed with everything you could have hoped to find.
