It is one of those perfect nights outside, the weekend has begun, and you want to stay outdoors rather than being couped up inside a club. The place to go is a newly renovated Eden www.edendc.com. Located on 18th and Eye Streets, and formerly known as the 'Eye Bar,' Eden has nicely transformed their 
space into a New York style lounge and outside patio.
After climbing 4 large flights of stairs, you arrive at the DC's own oasis under the stars in-between two taller buildings. Huge fans blow away the humidity and greenery lines the walls to give you a sense of 'Eden' right in the middle of downtown. "We wanted to create a garden of Eden type of environment. Soon the the club will have renovated 'Adam' and 'Eve' restrooms open," says Kunal Shah, Managing Partner of Eden.
This past Thursday night featured an outstanding band from Arlington, Justin Trawick www.justintrawick.com, who clearly has developed their own sound. Justin has combined a country, 
almost bluegrass groove with some fast paced vocals reminscent of Eminem www.eminem.com/. The upright bass is a refreshing change to the cover bands surrounding the area, and a perfect match to Eden's backyard setting.
After the band, a DJ sitting high above the crowd like a typical cat, spins tunes until 3 AM. The crowd this night was filled with mainly after work types, who dropped by after finishing up at their K street office buildings.
Eden is too 
new for a cocktail menu, but does offer the best looking cigar and bottle service menu to peruse, since it lights up automatically upon opening. The menu includes bottle service for all the majors, and Habanos and Maduro cigar selections.
Unlike some other clubs, this space was a 2 to 1 ratio, men to women. In back, a separate couch and green coffee table area, is tucked away for those cigar smokers who want to enjoy a small view of the city, away from the music.
Events are posted on their website, and within weeks, their 2nd and 3rd floors will be completed for those nights in which you are too hot to be outside.
