NASCAR Nationwide series comes to Road America in 2010
Since NASCAR won't be returning to the Milwaukee Mile in 2010, the door was open for another Wisconsin venue. NASCAR annouced today the addition of historic Road America to its 2010 NASCAR Nationwide series schedule.
NASCAR fans, and Danica Patrick fans, will want to mark this date on the calendar. The Road America 200 will be held on Saturday, June 19, 2010.
This will not be the first time the stock cars have taken to the legendary 4.048-mile, 14-turn track. On Aug. 12, 1956, when Road America was just one year old, Tim Flock won the only NASCAR national series race in the Sprint Cup Series. In 2001, Paul Menard, current NASCAR driver and Eau Claire, Wis. native, won there in the former NASCAR Re/Max Challenge Series.
Road America will be the third road course on the 2010 NASCAR Nationwide Series schedule. The series also will race at Watkins Glen International and at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal.
“Road America is a very unique track that will provide great racing and will test driver skill and ability on what is a very large course,” said Joe Balash, Director of the NASCAR Nationwide Series.

I am very glad to have Nascar return to the awesome Road America grounds. Just an FYI in to article above. Danika Patrick will not be racing at RA this year. She has an Indy Car race that weekend.
