White House approved Air Force One fly-over of NYC (Update: Video)

In what can only be described as irresponsible, The President Obama’s back up plane to Air Force One flew at Manhattan buildings today for a “Photo-Op”.

That’s right. A Photo-op.

Terrified residents and workers in Manhattan scrambled to get out of buildings in the flight path, madly calling family and twittering as fast as they could that another terrorist attack was under way.

To the right a picture of the 747, known as Air Force One when the President is aboard, flies towards Manhattan followed closely by an F-16 Chase plane. One can easily see why people were very concerned today in the City.

According to the New York Times, the New York City Police were informed of the event, but were also told:

"it had been barred from alerting the public. “The flight of a VC-25 aircraft and F-16 fighters this morning was authorized by the F.A.A. for the vicinity of the Statue of Liberty with directives to local authorities not to disclose information about it but to direct any inquiries to the F.A.A. Air Traffic Security Coordinator,” the Police Department said in a statement."

However, the Mayor was not informed until he got repeated messages on his blackberry asking him if he knew what was going on. WHAT?

Apparently this Democrat White House, which has done so much to try and remove language like “terrorist” from the national vocabulary, who is talking about releasing terrorists into the United States from Gitmo, and closing the prison housing the world’s worst terrorists, who apologizes to Muslim nations on a repeated basis for our Judeo Christian founding, has forgotten the terror that lived in the Streets of New York City on September 11th 2001. They have utterly forgotten that 3000 people lost their lives that day and for weeks afterward people lived in fear of another attack. They have forgotten that the very same plan was set to happen in Los Angeles, and was foiled by the Bush Administration. Leadership comes from the top down and Obama is no leader. If this had been one of Obama’s games of hoops on the basketball court he would have been playing alone without a ball.

This is utter madness from a very poorly run administration that cannot even seem to find qualified employees current on their taxes.

The New York Times reports:

"The mayor criticized the secrecy around the flyover. The e-mail notification “did have the normal language of saying this is sensitive information, should be distributed on a need-to-know basis, that they did not plan to have any publicity about it, which I think is ridiculous and just poor judgment,” Mr. Bloomberg said."

Louis Caldera, director of the White House military office, is taking the heat for having signed off on the orders allowing this absolutely stupid stunt in Manhattan, according to ABC News, however that does not excuse the woeful lack of leadership from the President which allowed it. It also does not excuse this administration for its attempts to minimize what the threat of terrorism means to the average New Yorker and the average American on the street. The President has all sorts of protection around him, it’s the average person that is the target of a terrorist.

Instead, the President and the Democrat Party are continuing a policy that amounts to burying their heads in the sand regarding terrorist threats to America. Obama’s overtures have done nothing to mollify or stop Iran’s nuclear ambitions or North Korea’s for that matter. The Taliban is moving east towards Islamabad, and there is nary a peep from the DNC or Obama about it. The threat of Terrorism is very real, and this wanton display of not just ignorance from the administration, but complete insensitivity to the – heaven forbid – hundreds if not thousands of Americans the terrorists say they want to kill, is so far down the road of indifference…. With a government like this, who needs enemies? This stunt with Air Force One is just the latest gaff, and displays the administrations very real indifference to the threats we face.

A Photo-Op.

This apparently is the level of respect America can expect from the Obama Administration.

Obama is said to be furious. One can imagine he is, after all it reminds America of what happened on 9-11 and heaven forbid America remembers that day after all he and the DNC have done to divide America along partisan lines, and to prevent America from remembering that attack out of the blue, particularly when a democrat President could have prevented it in 1996. It can be understood why Obama would be furious, it might undo 7 years of long hard work by the DNC to have us forget it all.

Can anyone imagine this happening under a Republican Administration? Absolutely not.

How is New York City liking that “hope and change” today? Not very much I suspect.

 What does this have to do with civil rights you may ask? Not a thing, it has to do with an out of control Administration. That is an American issue.
