The rise of a new class war

Wednesday April 22 saw a very interesting poll released by Rasmussen. This poll shows that 60% of Americans believe that the Government has too much power. 60% also say they believe that tax cuts help the economy. 51% have a favorable view on the Tax Day Tea Parties that were held last week. Clearly, more than half of Americans are at the very least concerned with what the government is doing, and how much power it has. This is now a civil rights issue, if only because more than half of Americans are not supportive of the governments’ plans. On April 21 Rasmussen released an article titled “Most Americans Say Bailouts Were Bad Idea, Political Class Disagrees”  It is becoming apparent we have a new class in America. The Political class, as Rasmussen calls it, are those who believe that the Government should be and indeed must be in control of America. You can call this class by another name: The Statists; those who believe that the State knows best.

This is the complete opposite of what America was intended to be, and yet, it is the Statists who are having their way.

Rasmussen found 59% of people thought the financial bailout was a bad idea. 60% said the bailouts for Chrysler and General Motors were a bad idea. When Lehman Brothers collapsed in September of 2008, just 7% of Americans thought that taxpayer funds should go to bailing out a financial institution. Secretary Paulson in his appeal to voters would only raise that number to 28%, and yet, the Bailout passed. Rasmussen has also found that there is a very large difference between the main stream view and that of the political class. They break the differences between the two groups with three questions:

“-- Generally speaking, when it comes to important national issues, whose judgment do you trust more - the      American people or America’s political leaders?
-- Some people believe that the federal government has become a special interest group that looks out primarily for its own interests. Has the federal government become a special interest group?
-- Do government and big business often work together in ways that hurt consumers and investors? “

Results in the survey those questions were a part of:

“… indicate that 55% of Americans can be classified on the populist or Mainstream side of the divide. Only seven percent (7%) side with the Political Class. When leaners are included, 75% lean in the Mainstream direction and 14% lean the other way.
Thirty-seven percent (37%) of those on the populist side of the debate are Republicans, 36% are Democrats, and 27% are not affiliated with either major party.
Twenty-two percent (22%) of government employees are aligned with the Political Class along with just four percent (4%) of private sector workers.
The biggest surprise so far is that a plurality of the Political Class believes the economy is getting better while 66% of those in the Mainstream say it’s getting worse.”

So in direct opposition to what we are told by both the DNC and RNC, Americans in general are in agreement! Most of those making their living without assistance from the government believe that government is not following policies that are going to help our situation. When you take partisan politics out of the equation, Americans are losing faith in their government.

Those currently in power are not listening, and that is a fundamental breech in our civil rights. When our elected officials assumed their offices, they agreed to go to work for us. What has happened in reality is this: they have a full pension for LIFE after the service of one term. A 160K or higher paycheck for life, how nice, too bad all of the rest of us can’t get that deal, or the free health insurance which is arguably the best in the nation at 100% coverage. Is there a deductible with that plan? Or a Co-pay? What a lovely perk. They should be getting none of that. The jobs they were hired to do were supposed to involve looking out for what is best for us, rather than what is best for them, or those that finance their million dollar campaigns that go into the tens if not hundreds of millions. The average person who decides to go into politics doesn’t have that sort of cash in order to compete… by design. It keeps the Main Stream American out of the running; the system is fixed in favor of the Political Class.

The Political Class are those hired by the government or make up the government itself, and that class is growing as more and more people become dependent on it for their livelihoods. Whether its Social Security payments, Unemployment, Medicare/Medicaid, a job with the State or Federal government, or the press who are marching in lock-step with its agenda, it’s a class that is being deliberately increased in size. That class of people is very loudly proclaiming that the Obama Administration is doing a great job. At what exactly? For tripling the national debt in less than 90 days, now that’s a record that should stand for a few generations, we can’t afford to see that happen again. Perhaps it’s for increasing American dependency on government, that’s the ticket; there are now huge numbers of people dependent on unemployment and welfare. Where’s the “Mission Accomplished” sign? Oh right, they aren’t done yet.

We have a new class war going on, and it’s not the rich vs. the poor. It’s the Political class (the Statists) vs. Mainstream America. The political class is systematically going about taking your civil rights from you, your right to live your own life according to your own successes or failures. The right to your earnings and the right to spend them as you wish. Issues of Gun Rights and freedom of speech are certainly on the agenda list for the Political class to limit or eliminate. Watch for regulation of the Internet through the guise of “Cyber security”, that’s the spin that will be put on it anyway.

When you take political affiliations out of the equation, when you simply call us Americans, we are not happy about what is being done by the ruling Political class. It’s time we Americans recognize that it is us who are the targets. Not Democrats, not Republicans, but Americans and our way of life. We have allowed our government to become ruled by political elitists, which is not something to be proud of. It’s the very thing the Founding Fathers feared for us, and is the road to tyranny they tried to steer clear of. Civil Rights are an everyday issue most of us have forgotten in the course of allowing the very term to be redefined. We allowed it to become a thing we only talk about when a group is denied those rights. So now, Civil rights is more about what some groups don’t have, than maintaining what we do have. It is time to become more aware of what we as Americans are guaranteed; and to resist absolutely the further erosion of our rights.

Don’t let the political class tell you otherwise.
