The Democrat Health Care Bill HR 3200

(AP Photo/Tom Strickland) Beth Charbode, Indianapolis

The Health Care bill (HR 3200) currently being debated in the House of Representatives is over 1000 pages. The Democrat leadership pushed very hard to pass this legislation before people could read it, very much as they did with the "Stimulus" package (which has not worked as of yet, and has released less than 9% of the funds it went so far into debt to procure as unemployment continues to rise). Given the lack of positive effect with the last couple of bills - the House used this tactic on TARP, Stimulus, and Cap and Tax , Americans are and indeed should be very skeptical about this current legislative attempt with HR 3200.

Thanks to Blue Dog Democrats who oppose the bill on fiscal grounds, the bill has been delayed, giving America the chance to find out just what is in it. Below is what is in it. It is not only abhorrent in its eventual cost - up into the trillions of dollars over 10 years according to the Congressional Budget Office which has released not one but two reports stating that this bill will not save a dime and is more likely to cost over 1000 Billion, in other words, over a trillion between 2010 and 2019 -  but requires that the states give up some of their sovereign rights. Because of the precedent this would set, it may end up costing them all of their sovereign rights.

Beyond all of this,  the bill attacks personal liberties and choice and is nothing short of Nazi-like in it's inhumanity. If nothing else, it is the soft tyranny of  "we must help our fellow Americans who are less fortunate". Giving up our freedom of choice in our health care is NOT going to help those less fortunate, it will indeed make health care a lot worse for everyone overall. Other than those wealthy enough to be able to go overseas for their health care, but given that the current American system of health care is the best in the world, the main reason Canadians and British citizens come here for treatment, it is hard to speculate just where they would go. It is one thing to try to fix something that is broken, it is quite another to go and deliberately break it. That deliberate action is exactly what the House of Representatives, President Obama, and the Senate are trying to do, and it is insanity.

Given that this bill comes from a Political party that espouses to be doing this for the good of the middle class American, it seems more accurately, when one knows what is IN the bill to be more aligned to controlling a population, giving medical care to illegal immigrants, and deliberately out to shorten the lifespan of the disabled and the elderly in order to lower the costs of the plan.

This is an abomination. Or should I say an Obamination? This "health care" package is a horribly bad idea. If the Democrats really wanted to lower the cost of health care they would go after tort reform and lower medical costs over night in the order of hundreds of billions of dollars. Overnight, with out a single other change. Instead they want to educate your parents in dying sooner. You make the call, here is what is in it by page and section number.

Once you compare something to the Nazi's you lose. Game over. Party foul. FAIL.

While the Democrats offer real change Republicans continue to be the party of "no".

Those 50 million Americans without insurance and the countless others being robbed by the insurance companies have no sympathy for your libertarian, wingnut drivel.

Attacking the messenger doesn't change the facts of the bill. It's easy to throw stones but it doesn't add to the discussion or enlighten anyone. This is eugenics, rationing and a dispicable attempt to ram through reforms that are ill-conceived and in many cases just agenda driven reforms. We need to change the delivery methods of healthcare, but this bill is a horrible mash. The reforms should be thought out, discussed, and not simply voted upon. A change of this magnitude needs months of discussion.

"Once you compare something to the Nazi's you lose. Game over. Party foul. FAIL."

Wrong. Much as you wish it were the case, you cant possibly dismiss the entire article just because the author used the word "nazi" in it, and just once at that.

"While the Democrats offer real change Republicans continue to be the party of "no"."

What they are constantly saying "no" to is tyranny. It makes sense to be the “Party of NO” when “NO” is the right answer.

"Those 50 million Americans without insurance"

Phony baloney number long since exposed as a hoax. And even if it were true, its still not an excuse, nor give ther government the right to violate the constitution and stick its nose where it doesnt belong.

Well, I suppose that tells us all how you feel about your parents being told that they can't get health Care because they are too old.

I suppose that tells us that you don't care for the handicapped and disabled. That they are undeserving of health care because they can not work.

Wow, talk about compassion being the lead driving force in the democrat party... the lack of compassion perhaps is more accurate.

By the way Olivia, this is exactly what the Nazi's did. Almost to the letter.

You better read what is IN this thing my friend... if you do, youtoo will see that this is NOT even close to a good idea. Not in this form, not under these conditions.

Not to mention because of the state sovereignty issue, some states will refuse to participate, and that will create a constitutional showdown you can't even imagine yet.

It's a real shame our country will sell out our Constitutional freedoms to a health care plan that only enables our government into the most private area of our lives, our bodies. Real reform would be to get the people working at wages sufficent to pay for health care and governing insurance companies not to discriminate or terminate because of loss of job or an illness. We have a free/pro-rated clinic here in my city that provides the same health care I receive from my own doctor, so what's the problem? We already pay in taxes to medi-care-medi-cade and Social Security, which is broke, why should we trust bureaucracy to develope and maintain a health system. Our taxes already go to provisions for thos 4% uninsured. The government does not handle money well, especially our tax money. I don't want my health issues being examined by any party other than myself and doctor, certainly not a board of people who don't know me nor I want them to know me!

Olivia: Oh, yes, the sky will fall if we don't stop this madness disguised as reform. The drive behind this legislation is not to insure the poor, but to reduce healthcare costs. The most efficient way to do this would be to reduce the "defective" population (old, handicapped, etc.) In this scheme, your life will not worth one more cent than that of any melodramatic right "wing-nut." Should you be determined to be a "useless eater," due to disease or trauma, you too will be scheduled for "end-of-life" counseling. That would also apply to your children/grandchildren/significant others. Any choice to be made will be out of your hands and in the almighty power of whatever government we are enslaved by. Read the particulars of this bill and tell me it dosn't sound like some sort of "massa-slave arrangement."

There are no "50" million without insurance.
Check your facts - most are uninsured by choice, many by the fact that they're illegal aliens, and millions more are being counted despite the fact that they're merely between coverages.
There is no crisis to justify this fascistic bid for control of America.
This is a power-grab, nothing more.

Since when has the government EVER done ANYTHING cheaper, more efficiently, and/or more effectively than the private sector?
    Case-in-point:
the U.S. Postal Service is supported by taxpayer money, so why the hell do taxpayers still have to PAY POSTAGE?

    Claim from above:
Pg 50 Section 152 in HC bill - HC will be provided to ALL NON US citizens, illegal or otherwise

    From the bill:
SEC. 152. PROHIBITING DISCRIMINATION IN HEALTH CARE.
    (a) In General- Except as otherwise explicitly permitted by this Act and by subsequent regulations consistent with this Act, all health care and related services (including insurance coverage and public health activities) covered by this Act shall be provided without regard to personal characteristics extraneous to the provision of high quality health care or related services.

    My interpretation:
The section says nothing about HC for non citizens or illegals but says that you can not discrimate based on race, color, creed or national origin or sexual orientation. The right can't argue against this based on the facts so they just make stuff up. Sad times for America and the truth.
